Trail Detail
Notes
Very scenic with views of the Flambeau River and a heavily timbered landscape. Portions of the upper loop and cutoffs on the east side of the lower loop are more challenging. There is a three-sided shelter on the west side of the upper loop.Trail Reports

Firsthand: Classic [ Trails Open: All, ]

Started out skating but found it too soft and bumpy for my taste. Switched to classic had to use my skate boots. Track was in pretty good shape. Started at the north(hwy 70) trailhead then all the way to the south trailhead. I had trouble finding a way north again. Started doing a loop back south. Only by disregarding a do not enter one way sign was I able to find my way back. I still don't get how this came to be, it seems I had this problem last time two seasons ago.

One of the prettiest trail systems in the state but unfortunately not in good shape. Trails were recently groomed however they are bumpy, rough and quite narrow for skating. Hopefully they will improve soon with additional grooming.

Checked out hwy 70 lot coming back from open track Birkie. Looked freshly groomed and not skied on yet.
