Many bare spots with grass coming through. Thin cover. We only skied about 45 min before we gave up and went to Gamehaven.

I freestyle skied Quarry Hill yesterday and today. The groomers have done an amazing job with very little snow! I found that the trails were about 10% faster today than yesterday. Coverage is mostly very good to excellent. There are some sections where it is necessary to use caution, if you want to avoid damage to your skis. I used one of my best pairs of skis today with no damage whatsoever over 10 km of skiing. There is short steep section of trail that I call "The Plunge" where extreme care is recommended. It is the section near East Circle Drive. There are hard-to-avoid exposed roots on this steep section, especially if you are moving downhill, North to South, or in a clockwise direction. I recommend that you either avoid this section or ski it South to North (counter clockwise). After skiing it a few times yesterday on my rock skis, I decided to avoid it completely today while using one of my best pair of skis.

Very thin trails but surprisingly skiable. I've never been here before and had a lot of fun on the winding trails once I figured out how to navigate things. Base is probably less than an inch over much of the trail system and fairly soft. Rock skis only - lots of hazards, including a bunch of literal 2" rocks on one uphill near the grooming shed. Get it before it melts!

Trails were groomed prior to the last couple of inches of snow falling, so there's fluffy snow on top of the hint of corduroy. Some small bare spots and twigs, so I'm giving it a B skis rating, though I skied on my good skis and managed to avoid anything significant. No classic tracks set.

It was great to get out for first tracks on Quarry Hill on actual snow! I set my own classic track and it got better after a few laps. I was breaking through to bare ground at times, so I recommend rock skis. While I was skiing, the groomer came by, so I hope to give freestyle skiing a try tomorrow.
