The golf course hasn't been groomed, but previous skiers had formed tracks for classical skiing. It was thin in spots, but still fun to get out! The track staying more to the outside of the golf course was better than the tracks through the middle.

Made a few passes with a delicate touch to clean the surface and spread the small amount of snow around. Decent coverage all things considered. Be very careful on the area directly north of the parking lot as a lot of dirt/rock in that area. Please kindly let any squirrels know the skate deck is thin and we would like them to not walk or harvest on the ski trail at this time.

The skate lane was soft and slow when I first got there around noon, but seemed to get faster as it got more packed down. Yes, there were a few places with grass showing through, but nothing to trip you up or damage your skis. When I was there last Sunday there was exposed gravel at the north end of the parking lot, but that was covered today, though I'd still be on the lookout for it on future visits. There isn't a drop box for paying anymore; instead we're asked to pay on their website. Thanks Mitch for making it possible to ski so close to home!

Snow was very soft and had seen a lot of traffic, so there was a lot of grass showing. I found the best skiing, for classic anyways, was just skiing wherever there was snow as opposed to the very sloppy tracks.

Got a decent amount of snow here and was able to level and groom a wide skate deck tonight. Thin, but full coverage after the last pass with the groomer. Get your last weekend of Birkie training in out here. It's just great to get the course open and see folks out here. Thanks so much to all of you for supporting our grooming efforts through buying passes through the thick and thin - there will always be a smile and a high five from the cab of the groomer when I see y'all out here.

Very thin skate deck with some grass grabbing and a cart path just beneath the surface, so keep an eye out for these areas. But I saw the groomer's post and just couldn't pass up the opportunity to ski this trail. It had been two years and it was worth it. Thank you, Mitch, for making it possible--for me and for the many kiddos who came out for a fun lesson on natural snow!

Blue skies and sun with cold air made for a nice glide and easy climbs on my classic skis and really old wax. Classic tracks are worn in everywhere. Only under shadows did the glide slow down and these are few. Good cover, few leaves. So happy to be out again. Kids were out in force showing effortless technique. Snow crystals sparkled going into the sun.

Got just enough snow to make a few passes. Coverage ended up better than expected after pulling some snow in from the edges on the second pass. It's thin, but it's skiable for the first time in waaay too long. Obviously not enough for a classic track, but if we can get a few more layers on the skate deck we could have a nice surface to work with.

We were able to compact the trails today to be ready for future snowfall and protect the snow we have from blowing away in the wind. There are still a number of significant bare spots and it will take several more inches of accumulation before trails will be open. Stay tuned!
