Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
We scratched up the skating lane and cleared trails of downfalls from yesterday's strong winds. We were not able to set classic track. The icy conditions just wouldn't let us get deep enough. Long Lake, Thunders, East, Rajala and Sunset look to be fair skate conditions. Be careful on the downhills, it's going to be wicked fast until it gets above freezing again. We are definitely in spring conditions so future grooming plans will depend on getting new snow to work with.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied the Long Lake Loop, Snag Loop, and Roller Coaster a couple of times. Trails started out nice and fast but as the temperature climbed into the upper 30s, the tracks started to get soggy and very slow. Grooming and coverage were excellent throughout.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I packed the skate lane on all trails. Set new classic track on Rajala, Sunset and Snag. Conditions look really good. Grooming plans: I'm planning on setting classic track tomorrow mid day on the trails I didn't set it on today.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
About 2-3 inches of fluff on the skate deck to ski through. Underlying base was firm, and surprisingly had good glide for how cold it was. It wasn't too much work to lift skis through the fluff and was an enjoyable outing. Classic tracks looked good and had been skied in after the last snowfall.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We groomed the entire system this morning, classic and skate. The trail conditions don't get any better than we have right now. Grooming plans: We will look at the trails on Friday to see if we need to do anything before the weekend.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
We skied Long Lake loop late morning. I did classic skiing with a friend on skate skis. Well groomed and tacked. Awesome! Conditions that negate any excuses not to get out there!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We received 2" of fluffy snow last night. We set classic track on all trails except Atomic and did a single pass of the skate lane as part of the classic grooming. It's really windy so there may be sections of the trail where it's going to be blown in. Grooming plans: We will plan to groom Sunday morning both skate and classic.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We received around 4" of new snow Saturday, packed the trails yesterday and groomed all trails this morning. Both classic and skate looked awesome. I'm sure conditions will be soft for a bit. Grooming plans: If we new snow, we will groom again Thursday.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We scratched up the skate lane on all trails. We did not touch the classic track as we thought what we could do would make it worse. The skate lane looked pretty good, the classic track will be fast with some debris. Grooming plans: We plan to groom the system on Monday.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The full system was groomed on Saturday, both skate and classic. I skied the majority of the system late this morning. Classic tracks were great and skate deck looked pretty firm in most areas. We have had some pretty stiff winds so there was some debris on the trails. It's probably the best conditions we've had in the last three years, very fun. Grooming plans: We plan to groom on Friday morning after the temps cool a bit. We may have to leave the track alone if we don't get any new snow but will make that decision on Friday. Get out and enjoy the best skiing we've had at Sugar in a long time.
