Conditions were quite good at CAVOC. Skate deck was very firm, there were a few icy spots, but I was able to hold an edge with stiff skis on most of it. A few south facing hills have some bare spots starting to open up, but they were generally easy to side step. Saw 1-2 rocks sitting proud on Hill Side and Acorn Hollow that were easy to ski around. Relative to Washburn, conditions at CAVOC are harder/more icy, but coverage is much better. Skated but tracks looked OK on parts of the course. Groups have been out hiking on a few trail segments but did so when the base was rock hard so it had minimal impact on the trail.

1/2" of new snow over a firm but thin base made for some very nice skating. Most of the trail has good coverage, but there are a few thin spots on some of the south facing hills close to the lake and on acorn hollow and towering pines loop. Didn't hit anything, but wouldn't recommend good skis until we get more snow.
