Conditions have significantly deteriorated. There's about 8" of crusty snow in the Vahtera portion of the forest, tracks are unrecognizable. All other areas have completely melted or are thin patches of ice.

The skiing was good even before Ranger James came along, first rolling all skate trails with the snowmobile, then laying down corduroy with the Gator. The classic only trails had a couple inches of new, dry powder in the tracks, but a classic skier said it was very good.

The park received 2" of snow Wednesday night. Today we groomed Meadow, Pipeline, and Red Granite Loops. Meadow at 2.4km is in excellent condition for skate and classic. Pipeline at 7.4km is in excellent condition for skate and classic; some tracks were better than others as the deck firmed up faster than anticipated. Red Granite at 4km is in excellent condition for skate/snowshoe/fat tire bike. Takesson and Vahtera were tracked Monday and are in excellent condition, with a little fresh snow on top. Have a great weekend!

Finally enough snow to have a great ski in the park. I classic skied on Meadow and it was very good. Clean tracks, beautiful scenery, slow snow. The skate deck was even and did not appear soft. If you're driving north on 13 or west on 77 or 2 to get to the Birkie, break up the trip by skiing in Copper Falls St Park.

All trails have been groomed and are in excellent condition. Meadow and Pipeline Loops: 9.8 km skate and classic. Takesson and Vahtera Loops: 7.5 km classic-only. Red Granite Loop: 4km snowshoeing, skate, or fat bike. About 22km of fun, thanks to Friends of Copper Falls SP, for helping with grooming and funding equipment needs. Have a great week, Birkie skiers!

The park received 16" of snow over the last two days. Packed mid storm yesterday and today groomed Meadow, Pipeline, and Red Granite Loops. Meadow and Pipeline are in excellent condition, groomed for stride and skate, both with double set of tracks as much as possible. Red Granite is in good condition and is shared with hikers/snowshoers, fat bikers, and skate ski users. A short kiddie loop was also groomed and tracked at the ballfield. Happy skiing and good luck Birkie skiers!

Conditions are very good for only receiving about 19" so far this season, 3-5" base and firm conditions in most places. Skate deck is good to very good on Meadow and Pipeline Loops. Classic track is moderate to full depth on Meadow and Pipeline West, with no debris except where it crosses Red Granite. Classic track on Pipeline East is fair to moderate, with hills being more fair and some grass poking through, only about 20ft combined of actual debris just before Vahtera. Did not get to classic trails Vahtera or Takesson; and Red Granite multi loop was last groomed Monday. Happy skiing!

The park received about 7" of new snowfall over the weekend. Today we rolled and groomed Meadow, Pipeline West, and Pipeline East; and rolled Red Granite. The Meadow and Pipeline West are in good condition. Pipeline East is in fair condition. Red Granite will be really soft. Tried to set track on the Meadow but the track setter broke near the beginning and was too late for repairs. Grooming plans: Will try tracks again for Friday. Classic-only trails Vahtera and Takesson have about 8 inches fresh powder right now.
