Pleasantly surprised! We were not sure whether the trails would be open, groomed, and/or skiable. We started around noon and the trail was just starting to soften after refreezing overnight. It would have been harder to ski earlier due to ruts and bumps, but we encountered another skier who had been out for two hours before us. The trail appeared to have been groomed somewhat recently, but likely due to the lack of snow, was quite bumpy and uneven around the whole system. The trails closest to the parking lot had the most areas of some debris/dirt and footprints from walkers, but farther onto the trail had good snow coverage. No tracks set. It was well worth getting out! Thanks groomers for our first ski on natural snow of the season!

Magical 4" snowfall for crosslake on Saturday. Lots of snowshoe/foot traffic near the trailhead but only a few skiers breaking trail on the north end of the trails. Sticky and wet on Saturday, light and fluffy on Sunday. Can't wait for the grooming.

Rock skiable on ungroomed trail. 2+" of real snow. Could do about 1km on decent snow. Thinner coverage in the woods.
