A couple inches of snow fell early this morning. Groomed a 4km loop. After it froze down, skied one lap skate then one lap no track classic with Jonell. Although there were some really nice sections, didn't feel it was safe enough skiing to open to the public. It's always fun to have bonus grooming and skiing this late in the year.

We wrapped up a fun few days of late season skiing getting the most of the storm over the weekend. Snuck in one more grooming run yesterday afternoon but missed the timing a little. Best skiing today was on the non groomed trails where a few diehards enjoyed the crust segments. Trails are now closed. We will continue to monitor weather forecasts and ready to groom any late season snowstorm if conditions are right. Thanks everyone who came out the past few days....Just Ski.

A pretty fantastic day on the trails. Wow. Morning low dipped to 3 degrees setting up last nights grooming nicely. Groomed on Skaters Waltz in the morning cleaning up the edges. After grooming met up with a season pass holder to ski the classic trails. Just a phenomenal mid March day with cold dry snow. The sun was starting to do its thing after the noon hour but still very skiable and temperature never got above 30. Lots of happy skiers out today and one of the busiest March days ever. The sun did deteriorate the tracks early afternoon before clouds moving in saving the set for late afternoon skiers. The skate deck held out well and an evening groom cleaned up as much as possible. We will have the trails open in the morning, best bet would be skating on skaters waltz. Lots of open spots in the tracks and warm temps tomorrow with make skiing pretty tough after noon. Very grateful for a few extra bonus days!

13km of trail open. 9km tracked for classic, 4km groomed skate. 3-4" of new snow the past 24 hours. Grooming this afternoon on Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, a short loop to the west and the easy loop of JibFly setting track. 4km of Skaters Waltz packed and combed. Considering there wasn't much base left before this new snow (which was very dense and moisture laden), groomed out nice. There are thin areas and recommended to not use best skis. Classic skied after grooming and was really nice skiing on cold dry powder. The trails are very skiable. JibFly loop had thinnest coverage. Sukkerbusk was best. Temperatures look to be below freezing Sunday but if the sun is out, the snow will get sticky in the afternoon. Best to ski before 1pm. There is no trail fee to ski the remainder of the year...enjoy and Just Ski!

We wrapped up a great week of skiing and grooming with one final day of springlike conditions under a beautiful day. The trails are now closed. If any late season snow storm comes rolling through, we will groom if conditions are right. Thanks everyone who came and skied this week!

A beautiful day on the trail under brilliant March sunshine and light winds with textbook spring conditions. The sweet spot was 9-10. Good seeing a few more folks out on the trail today. Met up with one of the skiers and did all the trails that were opened and groomed, having a lovely skate ski. We were in the upper 40's for temperature today with some melting but froze down quick this evening. Just finished a late night groom on 5km on the inner segments have been grooming this week doing the best I could to resuscitate the surface. We will have the trails open until 2pm or so tomorrow then closing. There is about 3km of really nice skiing, other 2km pretty icy but should soften quickly. Not putting the grooming equipment away quite yet, it is too early! Just Ski.

There were some good striding segments still remaining at Maplelag today. I skied from about 10:30 am to noon using zeros which provided good kick. While the classic tracks were icy in some spots, I found a stretch of decent striding on Sukkerbusk, Mother North Star, Poki Loki, and Mother Hen trails. I also had the opportunity to cross paths with Jay who was checking ski trails and enjoying some time on Skaters Waltz.

Sun cloud mix, high temperature 31 today. Light winds, frozen loose granular (corn) snow machine groomed. 9km of trail open, no tracks set, combed for freestyle skiing. Areas of hard ice. Comments: Not quite as warm today as forecasted and cloud cover during middle of day kept the snow intact. Skate skied in the morning, fast and fun conditions. Few hard ice areas had to use extra caution. Bumped into a few skiers classic skiing, skiing laps on the better sections of trail still holding form on the tracks. Late afternoon groomed all the inner trails open and the mini loop across the road on North Loup. Recommended to ski before noon for best conditions. Grooming plans: We are not planning on grooming again and will close the trails on Sunday.

Another great day on the trails with brilliant March sunshine and fast snow. We stayed below 32 degrees keeping the snow dry outside the sun kissed areas and good grooming conditions for the afternoon. We groomed 9km of trail including all of North Loup and segments on the inner trails consisting of Skaters Waltz, Sukkerbusk, Sap Run, Eira Bikwadinaa hill and Kristins Kutoff. A few hard icy spots but very skiable. Recommend to ski out and back on the first and last third segments of North Loup. Over lunch I was out for a ski and bumped into almost 82 year old Dr. Bob who was out preparing for the West Yellowstone Rendezvous. We both agreed nothing beats spring skiing.....Just Ski.

Light dusting of new snow, sub freezing temperatures in the upper teens kept the snow fast all day on machine groomed frozen loose granulated/corn snow with sections of hard ice. Sunshine and subsiding winds. Grooming on 5km of trail today, both in morning and afternoon, focusing on the better segments on the east side including sections of Skaters Waltz, Sukkerbusk and short trails Kristin's Kutoff, Single Green and Eira Bikwadinaa Hill. Comments: Cold weather allowed us to work the snow a little better and improve ski conditions. Also transported snow to the start area to make access better to the main loop. Skied mid afternoon on the fresh groomed and had a real nice ski despite a few icy spots. Eira hill skis much better than you might think. Very fun!
