After assessing the trails again, the grooming crew has decided to end grooming operations unless we get a substantial amount of snow. The trails are back open for skiing at your own risk. Expect them to be crusty/icy in the morning and softer in the afternoon. Conditions vary from full coverage to bare spots to icy patches. Enjoy the spring conditions out there! Thank you for a great season! The Ski Shop and Chalet will remain open through the weekend.

We will be closing the trails today due to icy conditions. The groomers attempted to get the trails ready for today, but the cold overnight temperatures froze things up a bit too hard for the machines to bust up. We will reassess the trails tomorrow to see if we can get them back open for the end of the week.

The groomers were out again scratching up a few skate decks on the interior trails with the Pisten Bully and ginzu drag. There are also new classic tracks and skate decks on the Cookie Loop. It'll be a great day for skate skiing! The Chalet area is very icy. We recommend walking down the hill to start your ski. Once you get away from the Chalet, conditions improve dramatically. However, there are some icy spots on the trails today especially in the morning. Any ungroomed trails will be firm early this morning until the temperatures soften things up. Once again, we will be taking things day by day and the trails crew will reassess the conditions tonight. Happy spring skiing!

Made a trip up to Minocqua to Winter Park this morning - definitely worth it. Freshly groomed trails with full coverage with some small areas with twigg debris. Skate skied wolf tracks, survivor, tornado, xc express, nepkos cruise found all had similar conditions. By noon it started to soften up. Solid base in most all the areas. Most tracks were in excellent shape, only saw a few brown spots.

The groomers took out the pisten bully this morning and set new classic tracks and skate decks on the interior trails and nekoosa/wolf tracks for those looking for a long ski today. Skate ski conditions are going to be great again this morning. The classic tracks are starting to show some thin spots where the sun is hitting it, but are still mostly good! Temperatures are rising quickly today, so be sure to head out early to enjoy spring ski conditions! We will be taking the next week day by day as far as grooming and general operations goes.

Skated some of the interior loops and the long Wolf Tracks this morning on freshly groomed lanes, which were in good condition, with scattered icy spots to work around. Joanie and I then strided the Big Pine and Cedar Creek classic Wilderness Trails, which had been freshly tracked this morning. They were also in good condition, with just a few icy spots, and we really enjoyed the remote feeling of these trails. Many thanks to the groomers for their very early morning work to provide a quality experience for all today!

Geez what a day! I've gotten my use out of the wilderness trails this year and today may have been the best of all. So sorry you missed it because it was just about perfect.

Interior trails and Nekoosa/Wolf Tracks will have fresh skate decks this morning. The classic tracks looked good, so the groomers decided not to touch them. The Wilderness multi use trails are freshly groomed with new classic tracks. Conditions are great out there! The classic tracks are good in most spots with any thin areas being very easy to avoid. Skate decks are fabulous with great edge control and have firmed up nicely!

The Pisten Bully went out and groomed up all the interior trails again with fresh classic tracks and skate decks. Nekoosa and Wolf Tracks have now been groomed with the Pisten Bully as well! Head out there for a long trail adventure. The cold overnight temps have helped to firm up the trails so the overall conditions are excellent! Classic tracks are full depth and solid and skate decks are firming up nicely.

We're back in it! Those meltdowns are hard to take, but 6-7" replenished the snow depth and made for bluebird sky's and a Chamber of Commerce ski experience. Sure, a pole punch here and there, a soft skate pocket on a downhill, but the tracks were sharp and well defined. If you have the time, and have another road trip in the tank, Go North, young man, go north! (Uh, ladies, too!).
