Excellent snow conditions and grooming! Nearly all of the classic tracks had been set, with some skied in on one side or the other. In a few places where there were classic tracks on both sides, one side hasn't been skied in but that could easily be done. The skate deck also appeared to be in excellent condition.

Wonderful grooming after the recent heavy snow resulted in some of the nicest skiing of the season! No debris on the trails, and clean tracks everywhere I skied.

The grooming was great and the skiing was excellent. Did classic skiing on Valley, Cedar and Ed's trails. I am guessing the skiing will stay nice for awhile!

Another good day of skiing at Swedetown after a little fresh snow last night and good grooming this morning. Track was firm and fast. Good kick with Swix Blue Extra.

Another great day at Swedetown. Base holding, fresh grooming on a dusting of snow that fell overnight. There is debris in the snow... Fast conditions in cold temps today.

Fantastic skate conditions. We skied all the trails with the exception of the expert trails that were close to the chalet as they were not groomed. Found the skate lanes fast and firm. The groomers did a nice job loosening the icy snow and it created a fun skate deck. I would highly recommend skating as it doesn't get much faster. The classic tracks were icy.

Swedetown is still standing strong after the three day warmup. Highs only reached about 50 degrees as the Big Lake helped keep temperatures in check. Temp plummeted to 20 degrees this morning and the Husky went out and busted up all the ice, resulting is some pretty nice skating! There was plenty of loose snow to get an edge, glide was great, and speed was medium-fast. You can see from the picture that we still have ample base - in the 18 to 24 inch range.

Freshly groomed after previous day heavy snowfall. Very enjoyable skiing with an abundance of snowfall in Calumet and Swedetown Trails. Many kilometers of fun to experience on soft natural snow.

Yesterday's blizzard lived up the the hype - well in excess of a foot of new snow. But things calmed down today, and preparations are well underway for Saturday's Great Bear Chase. Groomers have been out and about during and after the storm. Trails are shaping up nicely as you can see from the attached trail cam image - about 18 hours after the snow stopped. This is at about the 2k mark on the race course. And there was lots of activity today picking up fencing, V-boards, and all kinds of other things and delivering to the stadium, with lots of setup to be done tomorrow. Everything is coming together for a great day on Saturday!

Everything groomed up and firmed up nicely after Friday's storm. Perfect temps and perfect skiing, and holding up just fine with a lot of use. Good to see and chat with so many people who came up from areas that have lost too much snow - we're glad you're here! We're fortunate to still have a 2-foot base at Swedetown.
