Great skiing at Swedetown today. The skate deck was in good shape on Valley and Greenstone but with the fresh snow, it was a little slower going on the other loops. It could use a little more rolling. Ed, Birch, and Tamarack were pretty good, but Mama and Papa bear had so little traffic, it was quite deep and slow. Was able to glide above most of the powder going downhill, but it was a slow climb going back up the other side. Given the conditions everywhere else in the Midwest, it's hard to complain about too much snow.

A couple inches of overnight snow were groomed resulting in a magic carpet ride in the skate lane. A lot of the tracks were freshly reset, and classic skiers were pleased.

Drove north to find snow. Houghton/Hancock, two very good days skiing at Swedetown. Skate deck terrific. Classic looked only fair, need more snow.

Nicely groomed skate deck. No debris or dirt. Tracks were not refreshed recently, however. Just a few skiers seen on this extensive network. Groomer said they would test to see if tracks could be worked on for tomorrow.

All the trails have been groomed and track set. The conditions are very good. Grooming plans: We will be trying to set new track in the days ahead. The track currently is also in good shape.

Great conditions. Tracks were firm with a little blown snow. The skate lanes were perfect, flat no bumps of any kind no ice or rocks. Great place to ski when others are marginal. Best groomed trails anywhere year round, IMO.

All trails have been dragged for this morning. By the time we finished, it had started snowing pretty good and if it keeps up through out the day we may be able to get a track set. Stay warm and get out and enjoy.

Trails were groomed early this morning, then several inches of snow (which was not in the forecast - the best kind!) came down. It made for some really nice skating - cold fresh snow is supposed to grab skis, but the opposite happened - good glide! From the Swedetown Trails Club, thanks to all who visited us over the holidays!

To say that we need more snow is an understatement at best. All trails have been dragged and Valley, Len's, Tiger, Pineridge, Greenstone, Mama Bear and Baby Bear have been tracked and the rest of the trails have just been dragged. Setting track was very difficult because of the ice under the little bit of snow we have gotten. Hopefully we'll get some snow soon and get back to where we want to be. For those of us less spoiled and not having snow, the skiing is fantastic.
