OMG - this is why we make the drive! Lots of fresh snow + great grooming = perfection. Packed powder, crisp, clean tracks, and sparkling sun with moderate temps. Very light usage. You just can't ask for more.

Wolverine received about 10-12" last night with blizzard winds. All trails have been regroomed, expect soft conditions. Sunny afternoon skies. Thanks groomers!

Skiing in a snow storm is interesting, since the conditions change every few minutes. Started out around 11, with above freezing temps. The tracks were ok - some crusty parts, some soft from the thaw/freeze cycle. The only real problem area was the pond loop - the wind and sun had scoured the dam to bare ground with a narrow strip of ice to pick across. After that, the snow started to come down heavily. The tracks got coated with fresh, somewhat sticky snow. By the time I got to Stairway to Heaven, I was running into more stickiness. That eventually worked itself out by the end of the trail. The high winds also have been knocking some branches into the trail, so take care. It's still coming down.

Grooming Scheduling

Early bird groomers out this morning before the snow started to fall. 2" of light fluffy snow covered the fresh grooming. The tracks skied in nicely and the skate lane was solid under the new snow. Trails will be groomed in the morning. YooperBeiner snow shoe race/walk is from 11-1. Ski trails open all day with a few detours during the race. Come and enjoy the festive day with us.

Superb conditions at Wolverine. Skate lanes were freshly groomed and classic tracks were firm and deep. Temps were around 5 F but sunny and the glide was much better than expected. All trails were skied.
