All trails were groomed and track set this morning. Thanks to Mother Nature for the foot of snow she provided! Ladies learn to ski today- there were a lot of participants, hope they all enjoyed it and keep skiing! Go Heikki Lunta Go! Had snow globe conditions this morning turning into light falling snow in the afternoon.

Grooming Scheduling [ Trails Open: All, ]

Trails were skate lane groomed and track set this morning. The tracks are shallow. When more snow arrives, groomers will be at the ready preparing to capture a great base while the temperatures are cold. Night temps are in the low teens. The Ladies Learn to Ski Lessons and lunch are still on for this Saturday 9-11:30. Warm chalet is open.

Skated all the trails with the exception of Cliffhanger. Trail conditions are decent with a fairly firm skate deck. The Wolverine loop has the best overall skate conditions with the Powderhorn loop being a little softer. There is still some undulation in the trails due to lack of snow depth for a base but nothing that will inhibit your skating. Very little organic matter showing and about 1-2" of new snow since the Monday grooming. Note there are no classic tracks until more snow.

Groomers were out this morning but were only able to pack the snow to help freeze up the wet areas. Wolverine Loop and Novice Loop done but still lots of sticks and stubble showing through. No tracks made. Powderhorn Loop not touched today. It would have destroyed what coverage there was. Bring your rock skis and keep doing the snow dance! Welcome Sisu participants, family, friends, and volunteers. Wolverine will have a display at the EXPO Saturday afternoon.

My advice is don't go: There is an inch or two of snow, so it's not really bare, but it's so thin and rocky that it's not really safe, and certainly not very fun. I walked down the hills. They've rolled it, so they are ready for more.

Great skiing today at Wolverine. Of course, with just a few inches of snow, conditions require rock skis. The trails appear to have been rolled and combed twice in the last few days. Packing down the dusting from last night made a surprising improvement. With such a slim base, there are quite a few lumps in the trail, but it is fun and skiable. There's no telling how the trails will survive the unfavorable forecast, but I imagine the skiing Wednesday will be good.

Skied all except Cliff Hanger. Most of the Wolverine Loop is freshly groomed, the rest had 1-2 inches of recent snow. A very few protruding rocks could be easily avoided. Bumpy in some spots; more snow needed to smooth the trails. Thanks Wolverine volunteers for the gift of skiing!

2" new snow covered trails and bare spots this morning. Still, rocks under snow. Grooming plans: Groomers will go out as soon as conditions allow. Still not enough to set a good track.

I skate skied the Novice loop and Cliff trail after work. The Novice Loop is in poor condition with rocks and dirt and debris showing through in many places. It was bumpy and easy to catch your ski on a rock or dirt. I then tried Cliff Trail (not Cliffhanger, that would be crazy with the low snow and big hills). Cliff Trail also had rocks, dirt and debris showing through, I was able to skate ski back and forth and pick my way around most, but did catch my ski on dirt, rock several times. There were a few good very short stretches but it is sketchy. Unfortunately, right now until we get more snow, I would not recommend skiing the trails. I want to be honest about conditions.

Trails are looking good for the amount of snow that we have. The trails were rolled after the first big snow. No tracks set until we receive more snow. Novice trail seems to be in the best condition. At the bottom of Sulo's hill on the Wolverine Trail (SW) there's a rough spot, take it slow. Warm chalet open.
