Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Lake Superior Snow Gods offered up a New Years blessing with couple inches of badly needed new snow at Wolverine. There was an ample groomed base already and the new snow on top made for very good skate conditions this afternoon. Skied all trails except for Cliff Hanger which wasn't groomed. The classic tracks were getting skied in as well. Just a few people taking advantage of the fine conditions.

All trails were groomed for skating this morning (except behind the hospital to Sulo's field) No tracks set given lack of snow. It is snowing....yeah!

Skate conditions at Wolverine are really good considering the recent warm up and rain. The skate deck is firm but not icy. The snow is fast and there are really good skate conditions if you are comfortable with some speed. The Wolverine loop west of hospital, novice loops and Cliffhanger are closed but everything else is open and fun. The stadium area by chalet is icy but once you get up the headwall the snow is great. There are a few areas on the trails that froze from the melting run off but they can be easily navigated. Go out and enjoy.

Skied Wolverine this Christmas evening around 3:30 pm. Very good skiing, pretty fast and good classic tracks. One section was reported to be bare due to wind by the groomer on the pond loop. Get out on skis while conditions are good!
