The trails were beautiful with great snow coverage. A couple soft spots that could be firmed up by now. Super fun trails for classic and skate!

Skied much of the 10k skate loop and that is set up well and firm. Good skis with green or blue wax in the morning running well. Trails are well skied in many areas making for an even better base. Classic track is remarkable and more snow would help but to be able to bring good skis out on classic track right now is just a bonus.

Had a great classic ski and skate ski. Grooming was really good. Tracks had no bare spots. Would recommend!

Spent the weekend skiing almost all of the trail system at Rainbow Resort. Trails are in great early season shape! Skied on my good skis the whole weekend. I noted B skis as there are a few spots that a stick might be sticking out with a little grass popping through. Very easily avoidable. Doug did an awesome job grooming this weekend. Nice/fun place to stay and ski. Thank you Rainbow Resort!

16*F above; cloudy skies; 3k loop renovated, combed, and track set; Eagles Run, Rabbits Trail, Hawk's Run, Cougars Run, Ridge Run now renovated, combed, and track set. Average base 3" to 4" and firm. Wolf Run trail is only roll packed at this time. Skiing conditions very good. I found out grooming in daylight opposed to night was a lot better situation for me to work with the new groomer. Renovating the base went very good and I was surprised how firm the deck had set up.

Great conditions, 5+ inches of snow Thursday and tireless roll packing and grooming has made a holiday miracle so come and ski a lot... that's my plan anyway. The snow base is cold-base temps at -9 to -11 last 3 days so wax green cause compacted and skied in snow is even colder. No bare areas that I ran into and I will be breaking out good skis tomorrow and making the most of what Doug S has pulled off with a lot of man hours in the machine to roll pack and then create that sweet corduroy groom. 5 to 8 inches new powder snow; average packed base 4"; 6k loop, bucks run, and 3k classic now roll packed, combed and track set; eagles run, rabbits trail, and ridge run now roll packed; -2*F upon completing grooming during the night; base now firm. What an experience to be out at night with snow falling and grooming a very good amount of fresh snow. We are looking like a winter wonderland now and grooming of some sections of trails will continue today. Bring your good skis.

18* above; snow is a falling; 4" new powder snow ; 3k classic trail now roll packed; packed base average from 2 to 4 inches. Balance of trails covered with minimum of 4" of new snow. WOW! We headed out to pack some fresh snow on the 3k with new snow falling at a good rate. Grooming plans: Grooming will continue on tonight, consisting of roll packing and tidd tech combing and track setting. Stay tuned!

-13*f below starting temp; -5* F below finishing; 6k loop; bucks run; and majority of Rabbits trail roll packed new 2" fluff snow over a frozen granular base with just a few short areas of icy base where south exposure. Average base depth of 1 ½". Balance of trail system has an average 2" fluffy snow covering frozen granular base. B skis option for skating over new pack or skiing in 2" of powder snow on base. No track sets at this time. Blue skies, no wind, below zero temps. Last 5 days has been a wide spread of temps; 40* on Saturday, Light rain showers on Sunday and temps hovering around 34* and cloudy, then a couple of days of snow showers now and then giving us 2" of new snow; then woke up this morning to -23*F. We are still skate skiing over the packed base.

5 F above to 9F at finish; average base 1 ½"; 1" new snow fluff on recently groomed trails; 5" snow cover accumulated on previously ungroomed trails; some twigs and grasses show here and there; 20K trail system now roll packed including roller coaster hills of Eagles Run; 3k roll packed 11/29/24 has 1" fluffy snow cover; no track sets at this time. Good skating on the packed base. Started out with cloudy skies this morning and ended up in bright blue skies and sunshine. Very surprised to find not much debris such as twigs and leaves from yesterday's gale force winds. The hills of Eagles and Wolf Run looked great with all the snow covering the trails. Skating over the pack should be a fun option especially for the early season.
