Despite the warm temperatures of recent days, the trail remains open with about 5 km of skiable trail. Rock skis are advised as there are some thin areas/bare patches that can be skied around. Grooming plans: The trail will likely not be groomed again unless we get additional snow.

Skied a 5K loop this morning, still plenty of snow! It looks pretty sketchy/icy right in front of the Nordic Center but gets better once you get past the bike trail (heading north).

Skated the loop on a freshly groomed firm deck. Noticed a few leaves in the classic track, but otherwise it looked excellent as well. Let's hope all the snow doesn't melt!

Super nice conditions at Mora today on the 9k of trail used for the Vasaloppet last weekend. Perfect classic tracks, really nice skate deck. No thin spots. Worth the drive from the metro.

The 9 km of trails at the Nordic Center were groomed earlier this week. Both the skate deck and classic tracks held up well. Snow coverage was excellent and fast as of early afternoon. Snow started falling around 3pm. Grooming plans: The grooming team was already doing some trail prep and advised they will groom Saturday morning. Should be great conditions tomorrow. Get out and enjoy!

Grooming Scheduling [ Trails Open: Most, ]
|
We welcomed 4"-5" of new snow in past couple days. It was groomed at night. There is now nearly 9km of recently groomed trail from the Nordic Center. Snow coverage is excellent and classic tracks are set. Get out and enjoy! Grooming plans: We won't be grooming again until Thursday. The Snow Farmers continue to haul, spread, and groom snow to expand the trail length to 12km in preparation for the Vasaloppet races this weekend. Scheduling: Friday - Nordic Center trails will close at 2pm so the grooming team and other volunteer can prepare the course and set-up for Saturday and Sunday races. Saturday - Trails will be closed to the public until race completion--around 4pm. Trails will close again at 5:30pm as groomers prepare the course for Sunday's races. Sunday - Trails will be closed to the public until race completion--around 2:30pm

My best local classic ski (east central Minnesota) in 2 years! With the base of man-made snow and the top layer of the real stuff and the groomers out after the Sunday night snow...I had the best ski ever. Sun partially out, good music to ski to, and teen temps...I had a glorious time. As always, many thanks to the snow farmers, the groomers, and the Mora community for their commitment to skinny skiing. I send a heart of gratitude.
