The Central Gunflint system was groomed to perfection (as always). The classic tracks were deep, firm, and completely free of debris. All of the hills had ample loose snow for climbing or descending. XC skiing does not get any better than this! Now that the Bearskin Lodge is grooming the Lace Lake Trail, that three-mile loop is an excellent addition to the Poplar Trail. The Poplar-Lace paired loops made for an excellent outing of ca. ten miles from the Bearskin.

We groomed all the trails on the north side of Flour last night. We groomed the south side trails mid-day today, rather than overnight, to minimize any chunking that can occur when grooming cold snow. It worked well; the trails turned out fantastic! Excellent skiing all around!

Trails well groomed and holding up well. I skied from Bearskin Lodge, following the Logging Camp Trail loop, Red Pines, and Beaver dam. All are in great shape with cold dry snow and deep tracks. The skate tracks appear to be similarly in great shape.

The BWCA section of Logging Camp had a narrow deck for skating but was still navigable and worth the trouble. Bearskin - North-South - Logging Camp (Cross Fox - Moose Ridge) - Beaver Dam. Trails were fantastic.

Oh wow! 4-5 inches of fresh snow on Thursday and expert grooming combined with perfect temperatures and minimal wind today combined to make the ski conditions perfect. I skied 15 miles of trails on both sides of the lake, and found deep classic tracks with minimal traffic before me everywhere I went. The skate trails also looked well groomed with only light use. Applause for Bearskin groomers once again!

We have received another nice dumping of snow overnight. Everything was re-groomed fresh this morning. Beautiful trails again today! With so much fresh snow last night and the current continued snow, we plan to re-groom everything overnight tonight.

Pristine conditions for both classic and skate! Ruth Baumann does a fantastic job grooming the trails at Golden Eagle! We enjoyed all the hills on the Old Logging Trail, the Ridge Trails with their scenic views of Flour Lake, and a few others. Central Gunflint is our favorite area to ski!

Trace of new snow over newly groomed Poplar Creek loop off the Gunflint this morning. Excellent conditions as they have been up here for the last week. Shared the trail with three classic skiers and two moose. Well, didn't actually see the moose, but they clearly enjoyed a stretch of the skate deck.

Excellent conditions, everything perfectly groomed (that we skied on anyway). Monday thru Wednesday skied Logging Camp north, and east of Flour Lake; North-South Link across Flour Lake; small part of Red Pine (eastern outlet); Deer Mouse; Moose Pasture; Beaver Dam; Poplar Creek; and Cabin Loop. Snow is pristine, temps perfect.
