The skate deck was refreshed this morning. The classic track is essentially nonexistent. The steep loop adjacent to the Payne Shed was closed-off of because of a large bare area. Otherwise no other bare spots on the trails. The trail to the west ball field is "boiler plate" and I couldn't do much to imporve it.

Started the morning with very firm trails, left with them starting to get softer. We still have great coverage. Classic tracks are suffering greatly.

Classic skiing was difficult today at Quarry Hill Park. The classic tracks are gone over more than 50% of the trail and the classic tracks have been severely degraded by the warm weather over the rest of the trail. There are a few icy patches that warrant extra caution. The skate deck is still in good shape. I would definitely recommend skate-skiing over classic skiing at Quarry Hill.

The skate deck is in excellent shape in spite of the high temperature today. I skate-skied when the temperature was well above freezing late this afternoon. In most places the track had softened, so I did not have to worry about getting a good edge. Even on the softer parts of the track, it was still pretty fast. In some of the shaded parts of the track, the snow was quite hard, bordering on icy, and a little more caution was needed--this was probably the case on 15-20% of the track that I skied. Even in the shaded section, there was good texture to set an edge on the snow, however. Classic tracks are present, but in many places are degraded or even non-existent, probably owing to the recent freeze-thaw cycles. I think that it is still worth getting out for some classic skiing. I myself am going to classic ski tomorrow at Quarry Hill. Thanks, groomers, for your outstanding work!

The trails were really icy and firm with some patches of slushy snow in the sun. Be careful, definitely fell a few times on turns!

All trails at Quarry Hill have been groomed and the classic track reset where needed. An extra was made to by the groomers to level some wash boarding that developed. The skiing is very good right now!

The snow is packed very hard on the trails. The skate deck surface was refreshed with the Ginzu knives. Most of the classic track remains intact. It was frozen too hard to try to reset. Overall, it should be excellent skiing today.

Trails are in excellent condition for skate and classic. Highly recommend. Best skiing I can remember here.

Conditions are delightful at Quarry Hill. The classic track has mostly held up well since the last grooming. It is a pretty fast track, which made it really fun. The skate deck looked like it was also in good shape.

The skating deck and the classic tracks were refreshed this morning. It just doesn't get any better than it is.
