Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
We skied Long Lake loop late morning. I did classic skiing with a friend on skate skis. Well groomed and tacked. Awesome! Conditions that negate any excuses not to get out there!

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We received 2" of fluffy snow last night. We set classic track on all trails except Atomic and did a single pass of the skate lane as part of the classic grooming. It's really windy so there may be sections of the trail where it's going to be blown in. Grooming plans: We will plan to groom Sunday morning both skate and classic.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We received around 4" of new snow Saturday, packed the trails yesterday and groomed all trails this morning. Both classic and skate looked awesome. I'm sure conditions will be soft for a bit. Grooming plans: If we new snow, we will groom again Thursday.

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We scratched up the skate lane on all trails. We did not touch the classic track as we thought what we could do would make it worse. The skate lane looked pretty good, the classic track will be fast with some debris. Grooming plans: We plan to groom the system on Monday.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The full system was groomed on Saturday, both skate and classic. I skied the majority of the system late this morning. Classic tracks were great and skate deck looked pretty firm in most areas. We have had some pretty stiff winds so there was some debris on the trails. It's probably the best conditions we've had in the last three years, very fun. Grooming plans: We plan to groom on Friday morning after the temps cool a bit. We may have to leave the track alone if we don't get any new snow but will make that decision on Friday. Get out and enjoy the best skiing we've had at Sugar in a long time.

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We groomed all trails, both skate and classic before the temps dropped. There were lots of folks out taking advantage of the warmer temperatures. We will groom again as soon as the temps get better.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Most of the trail system had a very soft skating deck and tracks. Only the portions closest to the chalet had recent grooming. Regardless, today was what you dream about in the middle of summer. 29 degrees and deep powder on Sugar Hills. All trails were skiable, just a lot more work in the deep snow. Kudos to the groomer for adding scenic loops on Long Lake. I'd never noticed them before, so maybe it's a new and awesome touch!

Afternoon
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We received 5" of new snow last night and started grooming before sunup. Set classic track and packed and leveled skate lane on all trails except Atomic Drop which we will hit tomorrow. Conditions are pretty soft right now but not complaining at all. Grooming plans: We will plan to groom again later this week before the weekend.

Morning
Observation
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We received about an inch of new snow yesterday. The grooming crew discussed going out and scratching up the skate lane but we decided that it was probably best left as is. The classic track is still decent from the last grooming. The skate deck doesn't have enough depth to renovate the snow, we'd just bring up dirt. Let's cross our fingers for more snow.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Groomed all trails, classic and skate. We received about 3" of new powder yesterday. Classic was skiing pretty good last week and it should be better now. I would still not use good skis as there is still not a lot of snow. Thunder, East loop, Rajala and Sunset have the best conditions. Long lake and Atomic have areas where rocks might bite you.
