Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Took the groomer over the skate lanes on Prelude and Red Pine to try to break up the ice. Did nothing with the classic tracks. Can now snow plow to slow down on the downhill. The classic tracks coming down red pine are poor because of skiers coming out of the tracks on the corners during the thaw. Need some new snow to work with.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Rock skis ]
Hazardous skiing on icy ruts with skiff of snow. Tracks still set, but even the first downhill very dangerous due to frozen ruts from skiers falling and skiing out on the corners when conditions were soft. Flat areas around Prelude loop were nice in the track where there was no previous damage. Temps -5 degrees but sun was out and temps warming up to 0. Balmy! Trailhead fire going so maybe hike or just take extra caution. Falling hurts!

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The classical track was in great condition. All trails appeared open and groomed. We skied the lake loop to red pine junction and back to purple playground, mean green and parking lot.

Trails in good shape. All trails groomed and tracked. Snow is a little thin in some spots under the pine trees. Just a few scattered oak leaves.

Entire system has been packed to thin base by volunteer groomers. Recommend Prelude loops and avoid steep downhills on Lake Loop and beyond.
