[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Fantastic late season skiing today under brilliant March sunshine. This afternoon renovated the skate deck than headed north across the county road to refurbish the skate lane on North Loup and reset the track in some segments. Tuesday morning skiing should be really nice. The temperature has been struggling to get above freezing which is keeping the snow fresh and ideal for grooming. The tracks are holding out great from Saturday's groom. Expect faster conditions on the south facing segments in the morning before softening when the sun does its magic. Grooming plans: North Loup and Skaters Waltz will be cleaned up ahead of possible snow in the afternoon.

Another inch of fluff snow overnight. Early morning we were out resetting track on Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, JibFly, Twin Lakes and North Loup and leveling the drifted areas in the open. Skaters Waltz also groomed renovating the new snow into the base. Mid winter conditions, should be a excellent weekend of skiing third weekend of March. The Innerwest fat bike loop was also groomed last night.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Persistent winds and continuous frontal snow made for a busy day on the trails. We reset the tracks on Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, JibFly, Twin Lakes and North Loup. Skaters Waltz groomed skate groomed. Light snow continuing after grooming but the wind was finally settling down. Might be slower skiing to start but improving as temperatures warm and skier traffic. Overall should be a great weekend of skiing.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Classic skied this morning as a half inch of new snow was falling. Temps were still in the mid 20's, the new snow skied very nice on the well defined tracks. Early afternoon as the temp was dropping to the lower teens,Skaters Waltz was groomed and the tracks on Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, JibFly, and Twin Lakes were renovated and reset. The 17km InnerWest fat bike loop is now fully open and groomed and best riding condition of the season. Total new snow today less than an inch. No rain. Grooming plans: Tomorrow afternoon the same trails will be groomed and the track on North Loup will also be renovated/reset.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
All the classic trails we've been grooming for the late season skiing sessions got a fresh set this afternoon/early evening with the heavily weighted Ginzu groomer. Should be really nice skiing Wednesday morning. I suggest to get out before noon. After grooming I hit the Skaters Waltz trail for a few skate skiing laps. The snow has seasoned nicely and the deck was pretty firm and provided good action. Just a few death chips to pay attention to since the Pisten Bully basically plowed the snow off yesterday. We also groomed out the Twin Lakes singletrack for fat biking today. A short ride found pretty nice riding. Should be even better in the morning after it sets up overnight. Might be a few soft spot where it was drifted a couple feet before grooming. Grooming plans: Plan to reset all the tracks again and compress the deck when it warms up before the next round of snow and groom the inner singletrack loops for fat biking.

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
A great day of grooming under outstanding mid March weather. Pisten Bully, Ginzu and SnowDog all saw grooming action today working on 30km of trail. Classic trails groomed include Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, JibFly, Twin Lakes and North Loup. Skaters Waltz groomed skate only. We groomed about 5km of fat bike trail but had to bail due to mechanical issues from the deep snow. Jonell and I skied Twin Lakes at sunset and was good as it gets for mid March. Dry snow, silky glide. Grooming plans: Tomorrow plan to touch up on trails groomed today and get back on that singletrack after some repairs to the Dog.

Close to one foot of new snow the past 24 hours. Once the blizzard subsided this afternoon, the Pisten Bully was out grooming on Sap Run, Sukkerbusk and the Caboose connector for the evening skiers. Went out for a ski at dusk to enjoy the late light and excellent mid March conditions. Grooming plans: We will be back out in the morning working on 20-25km of trail for late season skiing.

Skiing between 3 and 5 pm on Sunday afternoon, the classic tracks were in ideal condition. I used both fishscales and skinskis, and each worked equally well. Although I didn't skate, I noticed the skating deck on Skater's Waltz was also in great shape, and appeared as though only a few skaters had been on it since being groomed. Excellent conditions at Maplelag!
