A great day of grooming under outstanding mid March weather. Pisten Bully, Ginzu and SnowDog all saw grooming action today working on 30km of trail. Classic trails groomed include Sap Run, Sukkerbusk, JibFly, Twin Lakes and North Loup. Skaters Waltz groomed skate only. We groomed about 5km of fat bike trail but had to bail due to mechanical issues from the deep snow. Jonell and I skied Twin Lakes at sunset and was good as it gets for mid March. Dry snow, silky glide. Grooming plans: Tomorrow plan to touch up on trails groomed today and get back on that singletrack after some repairs to the Dog.

Close to one foot of new snow the past 24 hours. Once the blizzard subsided this afternoon, the Pisten Bully was out grooming on Sap Run, Sukkerbusk and the Caboose connector for the evening skiers. Went out for a ski at dusk to enjoy the late light and excellent mid March conditions. Grooming plans: We will be back out in the morning working on 20-25km of trail for late season skiing.

Skiing between 3 and 5 pm on Sunday afternoon, the classic tracks were in ideal condition. I used both fishscales and skinskis, and each worked equally well. Although I didn't skate, I noticed the skating deck on Skater's Waltz was also in great shape, and appeared as though only a few skaters had been on it since being groomed. Excellent conditions at Maplelag!

Excellent late season conditions. 50km of trail groomed for the weekend after 7-8" of new snow this week. 20km for classic, 10km for skate and 20km for fat biking. Temps look to cool back down and make for a nice weekend of skiing.

7-8" new snow this morning. Grooming on 25km of trail, 15km classic, 10km skate. After some laps with the Pisten Bully, Jonell and I put on our skis and went out for a loppet on Sap Run and Sukkerbusk. The dusting of light silky snow that fell after grooming was really nice to glide upon. Grooming plans: We will continue to work on the same 25km of trail the rest of the week.

Ginzu groomed all the double track trails this afternoon as the fog was lifting, temperature dropping from a high of 31 today and skies clearing. There was no rain or drizzle today at Maplelag. The Pisten Bully had another day off. After grooming, hopped on the skis and Jonell and I skied Sap Run and Sukkerbusk. I always say the last week of February is some of the best skiing of the season and today did not disappoint. The entire 25km fat bike trail was also groomed today, leveling the deck where rutted from weekend riders and should set up really nice tonight with the clear skies and falling temperature. Grooming plans: Tomorrow we will be working on the singletrack classic trails and the skate trails.

Machine and BirdMan ended up grooming the entire trail system both yesterday and today working the 5-6" of new snow from Monday. No new snow overnight or today. Mostly sunny. Trails are grooming up real nice and conditions are some of the best of the year. Grooming plans: We are working on the fat bike trails this afternoon and plant to regroom the entire ski trail system again on Thursday.

An iconic Presidents weekend of grooming and skiing. Warm and springlike on Saturday, fast and crispy on Sunday and 5-6" of fresh powder on Monday. Fat bike and ski trail groomed all hours of the day over the weekend (timing is everything), and skied in the afternoons. All fantastic with the right wax and skis. Highlight was carving turns on the untouched slopes of fresh powder with the granddaughter. Grooming plans: We will be working on 40km of trail Tuesday, 15km skate and 25km classic.
