Conditions: Dusting of snow this morning, ponds, sloughs and smaller lakes all frozen.
The clipper "starved for moisture" dusted us with some white this morning. A check on the trail system found Island Lake completely frozen over which I did not expect and some smaller lakes as well. I tried to walk on Island lake.....good thing the canoe was next to me!! Still a nice layer of ice starting to form. The recent cold weather has been good for cooling the ground down. Most mornings the past two weeks the ground has remained frozen until noonish. Trails are in great shape and ready for the big snow 2 weeks from now.

Conditions: Excellent. Recent rains has made the ground tight. All the leaves have fallen from the trees (for the most part)and starting to break down. These events have the trails sitting nicely as we near the end of the month.
I took a jaunt on the Pumpkin Run course (trail run next weekend) this morning and found great running conditions, and treated to a most spectacular sunrise. Despite 3.5" of rain the past week, the singletrack was in very good condition making for some nice riding for the weekend mountain bikers. We also had a touch of frost this morning, the fifth of the fall, in the low lying areas and the roofs also solid white. Despite the wet fall, mowing/trail work/maintenance has run on schedule. Big cat work this fall includes an extension to the popular singletrack classic trail, Lucky's Loype, and some general clean up on other trails. We also added a permanent jump in the Nordic terrain park so we can rip it on minimal snow.
