Considering spring conditions, Gooseberry was pretty darn good. We asked at the visitor center about the trail conditions and they gave us a map that showed what had been groomed the day before. These trails were very skiable! A few soft spots and slick spots. It's primarily a real pretty double tracked classic trail system. Didn't see anyone else skiing.

Great conditions on the loops above the road (Center Fields Loops and Eastern Loops) had some inconsequential detritus in the tracks but nothing that is inorganic. Lots of snow, lots of it. The groomers have set wonderful tracks. The classic and skate loop (Birch Hill Loop) is also well set and in great shape, that downhill is a joy after all that climbing. The Campground Loop has a section with grass showing under some trees, it is easily avoided. The connector section under the Bridge is granular and icy, be aware.

Tried skiing Gooseberry trails on the north side of the highway. Plenty of coverage and some new wet snow did not completely cover the tracks. But it was way too warm. Poles plunged through the deck and skis often sunk thru the track leaving a rut. I just did a short loop on my skins but quit due to skis damaging the track.

Excellent. Mid 30s and light rain. My waxless skis were noisy and slow, but the woods were quiet and peaceful. Tracks in excellent condition, solid and deep, especially on the other side of the highway. A little thin right next to Lake Superior, but a highlight was hearing the waves.

The deck had a bit of half inch fluffy covering making the trails slow, but the pack beneath was beautiful on the skate trails. For the most part the classic trails were great. Some areas that had hiker damage but overall fabulous conditions.

Excellent. The grooming and tracks on the lake loop were super. Upper loops had just been groomed, so they were a little soft. Lots of skiers and lots of smiles.

Skied just about every trail in the park, and was out as the same time as the groomer on the north side of the river. New tracks were nice and full depth. Flicked a number of sticks here and there but otherwise debris is non-existent or easily avoidable, used my good skis. On trails the groomer hadn't hit yet, tracks were a little wonky and shallow at times and had been drifted over. Overall it felt like the groomers were picking up the tracks a lot for downhills and uphills that didn't necessarily require it so there was a fair amount of going in and out of tracks. The skate loop on the south side of the river had not been recently groomed but the track was skied in. The skate deck was firm the couple times I got out of the track. Overall a great ski and a big thanks to the park staff for keeping up with the trails!

The classic trails at Gooseberry Falls were rolled and tracked yesterday. The tracks were shallow in stretches and got slightly more shallow with last night's dusting of snow. There was little to no debris on the ski trails. Overall the trails were well groomed and the skiing conditions were great.
