[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I arrived at 9:30 AM. The snowmaking trails were quite icy. A skier was just coming in from doing a loop and gave me a thumbs down signal and said, "Not good!" The snow was making a horrible grinding noise as her skis went over it. I decided to wait for the snow to soften. At 10:30 AM another skier described the conditions as "treacherous." I waited till 11:30 to try it again. It was still very icy. I made it around the Star Loop and decided that discretion is the better part of valor. Although I chose not to continue, there were quite a few skiers making the most of the skiing.

Rock solid on the skate deck this morning, but just soft enough to get an edge. I avoided the big downhills and stuck close to Frog Town because it was difficult to make sharp turns at speed given the conditions. But after an hour or so, the deck was beginning to soften up quite a bit. Great skiing all around, another fantastic job by the grooming team.

Very nice at 9:30 am. Slushy by 11am. Grooming was well done. Highly recommended. Tracks were fast and icy.

The snowmaking loop was in good condition at my 9:20 am start. It was mid 30's and sunny. Snow was pretty fast allowing me to finally get back to the faster pace I had been enjoying prior to the early in the week snow storm. The snow was generally pretty cold with frozen corduroy or little ice chunks occasionally. It was moderately rutted on the Willow Creek and Scenic Foothills outbound climbs and the Frogtown inbound climb. Boulder Ridge downhill was in great shape. Skier traffic was pretty light.

Because of the start of DST, I started later than I wanted at 9:50 am. But I was just in time. Conditions were very good. The skate deck was firm, uphills were in good shape, and conditions were generally fast. As the sun rose during the last couple miles, the deck started to slow a bit from melting snow but it was a very good ski on this beautiful morning.

5 km snow making loop was excellent 7-8:30 this morning, great work by the trail crew. Used my worst rock skis for an adventure on all natural trails as well. Had to hike the downhill of hill trail due to it being all ice and bare ground. Was fun to explore off the loop we do all winter, but don't recommend natural trails unless you're looking for free stone grind.

Excellent skiing late morning on snowmaking loop - classic tracks were much better than I expected! Parking lot nearly full, beautiful blue sky and sun- a perfect day to me!

The snowmaking loop was in very good condition at my 11:10 am start. It was slower but much better than yesterday. It was mid 30's and sunny. The snow had only corned at the top of the Boulder Ridge climb and a little on the Frog Town climb. You could still find yesterday's slow snow in the deepest shade. There was still soft decelerating snow on the apex of the left hand curve of the return descent from the top of Scenic Foothills even if you did not cut the corner that tight. Boulder Ridge downhill was in great shape. Thanks to the groomers for getting things into shape so quickly after Tuesday/Wednesday's snow.

I made it out to Hyland around noon in hopes of some natural goodness. My hopes were dashed by the sun creating some bare spots. I did ski all the natural trails with the hill trail being particularly scary. If you're a the mood, the North Loop was okay with only one bad spot. I would avoid all others.

Treacherous conditions on the natural snow trails this morning. I skied all the trails. Very disappointing they were not groomed overnight/this morning, causing them to be rutted and icy this morning. Conditions on the trails were incredible yesterday and there was still plenty of snow today. Three rivers is still reporting fair conditions, but I would rate them poor at best and most of the downhills were not even safe to Ski.
