Mid-season conditions today and it was great skiing the Frog Town hill. Snow guns continue to blaze. Thank you, groomers, for the fabulous conditions.

Started ski with temp above freezing. When winds whipped up and temp dropped below zero, skate deck got icy. Some scattered leaves and tree debris from wind. Frogtown trail section now open. My GPS watch measured 2.8KM on outermost loop.

Fully expected to have the same loop as yesterday but a pleasant surprise to find it was groomed all the way through Frog Pond. A nice 2.25k loop. Plenty of 5am people out this morning before the wind.

Hyland was in great shape this afternoon for both skate and classic. The Star and Willow are the only loops open, but you still get almost 2k once around both loops. Thanks to Hyland for getting the season going so early!

Big, tall base manufactured. Classic track solid. Skate deck solid, hard, a little slippery, but enough to get edge. Measured loop at 1 mile on my watch. Star, Willow, and race start area open for skiing.

Excellent season opener for me at Hyland - very deep and clean base of snow and solid classic tracks. Skating was fast despite the cold temps. Fun to get out with the good skis.

Fantastic conditions at Hyland this morning. The Star and Willow loops are open and in great shape. The loop is one mile, but the guns were blasting this morning and hopefully more trail will be open soon.

Three Rivers website says that Star Loop and Willow Creek are open as of 5am this morning.

Checked out Hyland this morning. Looks like Star Loop should be opening soon. The trail was pretty flattened out. They were still making snow at the start area behind the chalet. More snow getting made on the hill to the race start area.
