About two inches made Highland barely skate-able at dusk but it was still snowing hard as we left so there's hope for tomorrow. Conditions ranged from so thin that we had to doublepole or walk on the frontside to decent skating on a couple of swaths toward the stadium. A classic skier on fishscales was doing better.

The Highland 9-Hole is in terrible shape. Slash and other debris from the logging operation litter the course. There are a few areas where the snow and trail are still intact, but they are disconnected and were not packed after the recent snow.

Grooming
[ Trails: Closed ]
Highland-9 is closed due to tree work. Unfortunately 140 trees had to be removed before this big thaw, and as a result the trail is closed. There are tracks, rutts and debris everywhere, but even without this the trail would be closed in a day or two thanks to the 40+ degree temps. We will post an update if we are able to groom the trail again with fresh snow and cold temps. Currently it is unsafe and unwise to try skiing at Highland, please go elsewhere.

Grooming
[ Trails: Closed, Rock skis ]
Tree work has begun on the Highland 9 Golf Course. Unfortunately this had to happen at some point this winter before the ground thawed. There is a lot of debris on the trail currently and we wouldn't recommend trying to ski it. With the big thaw this week it may be a moot point, but as soon as we're able to get the trails in skiable condition we will, and we will post right away. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Firsthand Observation
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Early morning Saturday conditions were excellent. Trail had been groomed recently with only a couple spots with very minor grass showing. The trail has been moved a bit so conditions on the left side of the trail are a bit soft. The ground is marked for the upcoming deforesting so get out there now to ensure great conditions.
