[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Incredible crust skiing this morning and yesterday afternoon on the trails at Afterhours. I used my B skis because the trails are fairly dirty in the pine corridors, with needles, pine cones, and small sticks, but if you're a bit careful, good skis would be fine. Brule had mixed freezing rain and snow pellets on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, but no accumulation. With the cold temps yesterday, this set up for fast and fun skate skiing with surprisingly good control. Still, be careful on the downhills if you go. No classic tracks to use unfortunately after the storm.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skiable conditions on Saturday at After Hours despite the trails (disappointingly) not being groomed after we'd received 2-3" of new snow on Thursday-Friday. There was a full parking lot of skiers still enjoying the deep base of snow and the beautiful day for skiing. Classic tracks were being skied in by some striders too, which may have been more optimal than skating, since it wasn't groomed. Hopefully trails will be groomed this week that can sustain our excellent spring skiing. I'll keep updating conditions.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
It was a bit crusty, but very good skiing overall. The skate deck was firm and fast, and on Wednesday had about 1/3"-1/2" of powdery snow on top still that helped with control in those spots where it was crustier or there was a little more ruts from skis earlier when it was soft. Had good skiing everywhere and noticed the tracks for classic appeared decent still on the few trails where they were (Oak, Maple, Spruce, Aspen I think).

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
A cold start this morning but the .3" of new snow was beneficial to all the trails. The skate deck was firm and fast with a few ruts, the classic only trail had a few deep spots where my boots rubbed the edges occasionally and the fat bike trail was firm. A great spring day. There is no track set on White Pine, Red Pine, Nebagamon or Little Joe but the other trails still have a decent spring track that was set over a week ago. Enjoy!

Great ski on Sally's Classic this morning. One of the best skis of the year. Thank you groomer! We will be back tomorrow!

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
This morning was probably the best skiing and trail conditions at Afterhours this winter. The skate deck was flat, firm and fast with great control due to grooming for the weekend. Classic tracks were very good as well where they were set. A few trails did not have tracks. Spoke with some skiers also who did Sally's Classic only trail and they reported perfect ski tracks. Tons of snow base, should last quite a while yet. Get out there!

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I was able to set a decent track on the classic trail tonight. I also touched up the skate deck on all trails from the chalet out to Oak and River. Expect a crunchy smooth deck but it looks better than last night's grooming.

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
I touched up all the skate decks at night as the Northern Lights put on an incredible display. The snow had cooled down considerably by 9pm and I was able to groom out most of the previous grooming equipment marks and smooth out the snow chunks. The skate deck should be firm and fast by Friday morning. Perfect corduroy was difficult to achieve with the crusty snow so expect a bit of a crunchy but smooth deck. I also groomed the fat bike trail. Get out early if you can since the trail will be getting very soft by noon. The classic trail was also rolled but not tracked today. Hopefully conditions will allow me to groom again Friday night for Saturday morning.

Morning
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Great spring skiing this morning. Maple, Oak, Balsam, Spruce, River, Aspen and the Entry and Return trails were all groomed and tracked yesterday. The track varied in depth and quality and the skate deck was firm but had some occasional equipment tracks and scattered snow clumps. By 11:00 the sun had already softened up the deck considerably.
