Another beautiful day at the camp. Nice firm tracks and a sunny day. What more could you ask for?

Night
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skatedecks have been groomed through the entire trail system late Friday night and should set up well for a good day of skiing on Saturday. The classic tracks set on Thursday morning are still in great shape. There are a few low snow/bare spots throughout the system, be mindful of this in dense canopy areas and sharp turns. Enjoy the trails before they get soft!

Though it was getting a little soft in 32 degree, sun filled conditions, the recently groomed trails were fun and clean. I kicked around the trails off The Fort Howard parking lot and was glad I did, Carpe Skiem!

Wonderful day to ski here. The trails were freshly groomed and the classic tracks were perfect. This was probably the best I've seen the trails there in two years. Sunshine all day and no freezing temps.

Skating on Maples, Birches, and lighted loop. Although skate deck was soft, glide was very good. Very rare areas of dirt, but these can be avoided. Adjacent diagonal tracks were present throughout most of trail. Grooming had been done early this morning.

Firsthand: Both
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
We skied both traditional and skating today. Traditional tracks wre improved from last week but the skate deck had deteriorated greatly in many areas. Skate deck had a reverse crown (V-shape) with some gravel and debris showing through in many areas, so use caution if you use your good skis.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Staff completed a maintenance groom of skate lanes at the Reforestation Camp. We received an additional inch of snow with slightly higher moisture content, so it compacted a bit better. The new snow is still somewhat soft; however yesterday's snow has compacted into a firm base. Likewise classic track set up nicely overnight and the new snow has helped fortify the track in thinner trail areas. Classic track was set on Maples hills and lighted loop return this morning. Enjoy the trails!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Staff groomed skate deck and reset classic track on all trails today with the Tidd Tech and PistenBully. Classic track was omitted from the maples hills section due to the machine's tendancy to dig too deep on hilly corners. Staff will set track on this section as soon as possible. Enjoy the trails!
