Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Received around 3 inches of fresh snow yesterday. Groomed A,B,C,D,G,X and Y with new tracks that set very well. A few thin spots showing some dirt through but 90% of the trails groomed are very good. Likely the last hoorah of the year so hope you can get there and enjoy it!

A good crowd showed again today. Dan is using Jeep with smaller ginzu, so a return of some white snow. Very good skating in the morning, classic tracks are mostly washed out, but those with no-wax or klister enjoyed things in the skate lane. Tomorrow may be the best day for a while as warmer temps and precip coming in next week. Groomed A, B, C, D, Y, Z to G return.

Dan keeps grooming and it is fast, smooth and safe with just enough snow raked up by the tiller. There is about 12 to 15k groomed and it is worth the 80 mile round trip for me, (I'd drive a heck of lot further for blazing fast conditions like this). With night time temps dipping below freezing the next 3 nights, skiing should be good right up to the end of the weekend. I keep telling my wife, "I promise this is my last ski of the season, but Dan keeps grooming. What's a skier to do? No ground showing through.

Skating was fantastic this morning after Dave went over lanes with Ginzu. Skating slows, classic tracks begin to soften by mid-morning. Ski conditions should easily hold through the weekend as we still have a deep firm base. Lodge will be open, woodstove going, so bring your lunch and come on out. Skiing is a long way from over here. We have a loyal following who still show up every morning.

Got out around 9am this morning and Dave had already groomed most of the skate lanes which I was thankful for. Overnight temps dropped below freezing and the deck was hard, rutted and unforgivingly fast in ungroomed sections. But where combed, it was fast but stable. Incredible, skied on good skis. There is plenty of snow not even close to ground showing, and overnite temps leading to the weekend will provide great skiing early, 8am until 10 to 10:30am and Dave said he will KEEP ON GROOMING! Tracks were good enough to provide roller coaster thrills on hills.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Skate lanes remain in good shape with solid pole plants and good edge. Groomer will Ginzu skate lanes in a.m., after temps getting into 20's overnight. Some drizzle last night, but little effect on trails as we have a 6-8" base. Mostly advanced skiers out today from out of town looking for the last snow. Tomorrow morning skating should be very good. I was able to reset classic tracks on A, B, D/W. Skin and no-wax classic working. Come on out for some great Spring skiing tomorrow, weatherman promises full sun and drier air.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Good snow coverage with some wind debris on trails. Groomer did a great job of scratching top layer so skis could get a good edge. Only a few other skiers out including groomers from other ski areas (finally getting a chance to ski after the end of their season). Skating far better than classic where tracks looked icy.

We arrived 9:30 am to find fresh snow, all trials freshly groomed, and Dan the grooming man was opening the ski lodge. Dan fired up the wood stove and gave us a first hand report on the trials he had just groomed. The two loops we skied were as promised, perfect! This little slice of heaven in the UP has changed my perception of winter. It has always been our favorite destination to ski and when there is homemade soup available it is icing on the cake! Thanks for a great year!

Dan the groomer did another fantastic job of grooming the trails. Still a 20" base with new snow worked in. All trails groomed for freestyle and tracks set for classical. Excellent ski conditions for an almost spring day.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Groomed our entire trail system this morning. 3 inches of heavy wet snow yesterday morning prevented any grooming but temps fell below freezing last night so we groomed it in this morning. Trails are excellent. Still have a very deep base that should hold up well into next weekend.
