[ Trails: Closed ]
The trails are currently closed for all use on the Zillmer trails until colder weather and we can get back to skiing conditions.

Snow is good, albeit icy (of course), with very little debris. However, the red and green trails - and a bit of the yellow that I saw - are marred by a lot of bootprints. It seems the trails haven't been groomed for a while. Hikers have come through and tore up the trail. No classic tracks to speak of, they either have been blown out by use or never added.

If you can tolerate pretty poor conditions (but passable) in spots until the first division to the yellow trail, the rest is not bad for skating. Fast, no icy spots except just before coming down the last hill to the warming shelter. If you have a choice, don't use your best skis, but I had no marks on the bottoms of my only skis and didn't run into many sticks. My nephew classic skied (no tracks available) and said it was a struggle with very little grip. We were the only ones out there, and had a blast! Dress warm! Yellow and brown loops are not groomed. Thanks, Reagan, for grooming the Red trail today. This made it possible to ski.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Another warmup and freeze after last weekend has made the trails extremely hard and icy. I groomed the skating lanes on the red this morning. Not much to groom with such a hard surface. Expect icy conditions in many areas. The first 1/4 mile is the worst. I would rate the red as being poor to maybe fair. I haven't done anything with the yellow or brown, those loops will be dangerous to ski. I don't expect to groom until next week.

Skied the Red Trail, in great condition, a couple bad spots, but easily avoidable. The rest of the trail was freshly groomed and fast.
