Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Rock skis ]
Fun spring classic ski at the golf course. It hasn't been groomed but there was definitely enough cover. Looked like about a dozen folks had been out before me. Might even be skatable - looked like most folks had classic skied though since it wasn't groomed.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Columbia is in rough shape. While grooming today there was about an inch of loose unconsolidated snow on top of very bumpy and hard ice, which made "grooming" a definite challenge. Made several passes on the small loop just east of the train bridge and even then had to make several course corrections to stay on snow. Snow is very thin and you might run into sections of grass. No classic tracks Set. Less than 1/2 km open.

Nice classic ski tonight at 6:30 pm thanks to some nice work by the groomers. Was really grateful to see how good of a job they did. There was some grass exposed on the high spots but in general the track was some of the best I've used around the metro this season. Skate deck looked nice as well. In general the conditions were pretty fast, just a few twigs. Thanks groomers!

Morning
Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
Partially groomed Columbia before work this morning. The small loop near the clubhouse on Central is in good condition with a shallow track set. The trail just west of the bridge over the tracks has some rocks showing. I set some new tracks on the West side trails, but they are in mixed conditions because the snow has blown and drifted and left some bare areas.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Rock skis ]
The lesson area has been groomed for classic lessons. The front loop has been groomed wide for skate only. The back (larger loop) across the tracks has been groomed for skate only. Most portions of the trail groomed. Multiple areas are wind blown and down to ice or very crusty snow and this makes it difficult to follow the designated trail. There are areas with better snow and they are closer to the railroad tracks, the trail is worse as you get closer to the range. No classic set at this time due to low snow conditions for much of the trail. Rock ski designation because of exposed gravel on the west side of the bridge,.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Primarily ungroomed as of 4:30 today. Only a small loop right off the golf course groomed for skate, but the majority of the course (about 90%) ungroomed. No classic track set at all. Only took me about 5 minutes to ski the test loop off the parking lot. Won't go back until I know its groomed because its not long enough to make it worth it.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Rock skis ]
Attempted grooming tonight around 8 PM given the fresh snow. Conditions very icy and at times had difficulty controlling the grooming equipment. Many sticks down as well as patches of bare ground. Trail in poor condition due to thin coverage and ice with best areas near driving range on southwest corner and near clubhouse. Rock skis throughout.

Skied in the morning with a firm deck - use combo or skate skis. I wouldn't waste time with classic. The groomer has exposed some bare spots and snow is thin especially near trees. I was surprised, it skied better than expected.

Grooming

Trails were corduroy groomed this morning, but no classic tracks. Coverage is good in most areas, some exposed grass and fallen sticks in a few places.

Morning
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Skied lunch time on Tuesday. The trail has been rolled/packed a couple of times, but no classical track has been set. There is considerable blown snow so not prime for skating. There are some thin spots near trees, but most of the snow is well packed. Hopefully another snowfall will get everything set.
