Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
After the Spooner area received about 4-5 inches of new snow on Sunday and Monday, the west side trails at Beaver Brook Wilderness Area were groomed Monday evening. There is good coverage and the tracks are firm. Have a good weekend!

Volunteer groomer, Kevin Myers, reports in that the west side trails have been tracked and look very good at the Beaverbrook Wildlife Area. The maps and signs are up as well...bundle and have fun!

Skied north from the parking lot on Cranberry drive (east side). The trail was skied in. The trail crossed a few roads and didn't seem to continue on the other side of the road. Turned back after 1 mile because we were too cold to search for the trail. Some trail signs would be very helpful. (Photo is map of route I skied)

We skied the trails on the west side of the property late this afternoon. First time we had been here, nice trail system for classical skiing, especially for those who aren't fans of large steep hills. Beautiful trail circling Harrison Lake and through picturesque woods. Trails were in good condition, minimal debris on the trail and most of the trail had two classical tracks set, though there were a few sections with only a single track. The tracks were generally very good other than a few spots where the track was a little shallow. We were the only people on the property and it appeared as though only a couple people had skied the trails earlier in the day, so it seems like a great place to get out and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.

Observation Scheduling
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
4-5 inches of new snow, conditions, skied in classic trail. Due to hunter conflicts, we are unable to groom Beaverbrook Trails. We are told that we cannot groom until Jan. 7 after the hunting season is over. There appears to be plenty of snow and the trails are open to only backcountry skiers. Dogs are still allowed on the trails.
