2017-2018 season

Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: Most, Good skis ]
Mid-winter conditions on about 10K of expertly groomed skate deck and dual classic tracks. Skied the classic tracks and it looked like the skate deck was perfect too! This could be the last chance to get some good K's in and the conditions are great. Much closer to the Twin Cities than the Birkie trail for a end-of-season trip.

Mid winter conditions. 23 degrees and sunny. 7.5k are groomed and tracks set. We had 2 classic and 1 skater in our party and conditions were a bit soft from the recent grooming and abundance of new snow.
Highly recommended for an April 1st ski. No fooling!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, Good skis ]
We received 8+ inches of new snow, and cold weather is in the forecast. So we made the decision to do some grooming. We currently plan to groom the Engagement Loop and Short Loop for skating and classic. Enjoy the late skiing.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Freestyle
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
No recent grooming, so it's not perfect and the classic tracks are all but gone. But there's plenty of snow and fun skiing. Early afternoon I found conditions firm and fast, but not icy. There's still time to get out skiing.

[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Spring skiing continues! People have been skiing every day this week. The snow base is deep in most areas, I found no bare spots today while skiing the engagement loop and short loops. The classic tracks are still there, but deteriorating; the skate lanes are quite good if you go at the right time and temperature - watch out for occasional tree debris. Snowshoeing is great on the alternate trail. The lights remain on nightly, and the warming house is open. The parking lots may be muddy.

Mostly good spring conditions, though it will always be variable this time of year. There is a deep snow base and little snow has been lost in the woods so far. Watch the daily freeze/thaw cycles to time the best conditions. I was a little late today, but it was still firm enough for a good ski.

Trail was beautiful except someone snowshoed in the classical tracks on the entire west trail! Good classical track on the rest of the easy and moderate trails. Getting a little soft by 2:30 pm.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We did some additional grooming tonight to smoothe it out for the weekend, with new tracks and skate lanes set on some sections. The best conditions will be on the engagement loop, short loop, Cervenka's Curl, and lighted trail.

All trails are now groomed, except the corkscrew trail. Conditions are mid-winter and beautiful. The skate lanes are still soft as of today. Otherwise conditions are good. It looks like we will be skiing for awhile.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Today we groomed and tracked all trails except the outer loop and corkscrew trail (the lighted trail, short loop, engagement loop, Odden's ridge run, and Cervenka's Curl are all groomed). The multi-use alternate trail was also groomed. New snowfall was 7-8 inches, so conditions are good, but may be soft in places.
