Near perfect trail conditions and weather. The fresh 3-4 inches of snow covered all the ground ice from the thaw. Well groomed.

Excellent for skating. A well worn and icy classic track. We hung around for an extra day after BSG and were rewarded with really fantastic conditions. The skate deck was groomed Saturday after Badger State Games and set up nicely overnight. This made for a firm and fast base with plenty of control. Just a skiff of snow in the air as we were finishing made the scene complete. Kudos to the folks at Nine Mile for a fine weekend of racing and skiing.

Conditions are fantastic! Need I say more? Apparently I need to. So - skiing the trails at Nine Mile is fun, fun, fun! And yes, there is a classic track (2 in many places).

Kudos to groomers at Nine Mile who turned ice and crust into very skiable conditions for BSG. Hard fast track for classic skiers and controllable firm track for skaters. Well done.

Best skate conditions this year. Groomers with 2 piston bullys did a fabulous job of changing unskiable icy hard pace snow to good edging and a very fast glide. Everyone who did the Badger State Games Nordic races reported great conditions for skate and classic.

Two inches of wet snow today, and the base has held up to the thaw and rain. Pretty amazing. Expect tilled corn snow with a bit of newer snow after they groom for Badger Games. Should be fast but may break down for later skiers.

Grooming Scheduling
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Conditions, considering the warm weather and rain are good. The base is holding and the forecast snow will be a big plus to make for great conditions this weekend for Badger State Games. We will not be grooming Wednesday morning, but will be grooming early Thursday morning to capitalize on the cooler temperature.

Still hanging in there with no bare spots or ice. Waxless skis working fine. More debris coming up, but they are planning to groom tonight. Hoping for snow tomorrow.

For me, it was a great ski despite the conditions. Recent reports led me to choose B skis. After I flew through the 20-km loop able to miss tree debris and hazards, I decided to use the racing skis for another 20-km loop. Both sets of skis had Swix yellow wax. One can get going pretty fast, especially on the downhills, but I was able to keep it under control and I am an intermediate skier. I intentionally avoided the alps on this trip. More classic skiers out there than skaters and the had a bit more debris to avoid in the tracks. Looking forward to cooler weather and snow!

Remarkably good skiing considering the prolonged thaw. Lots of leaf debris, but no rocks or gravel. PistenBully tilled with no icy spots. Hopefully will hold on for events this weekend.
