Nine Mile is reopened. 7 inches of new snow over the survived trail base. Great fresh tracks. Skate lane soft in places. Some detours to avoid old puddles. Mostly very good skiing.

Classic skied the 10k loop. Had to reroute due to flooded trails so we did some of the 20k segments. Trails were groomed, however there were long sections that were not tracked for classic skiing. Mostly good snow with only a few icy spots.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Very pleased we will be able to re-open Saturday morning after a week of very warm weather. As of 10 a.m. Friday morning 6" of snow has fallen at Nine Mile. We are currently packing on the lighted loop and the 10K. Grooming will take place early Saturday morning and some of the trails will be open.

Drove up to Wausau to find snow. Was suprised Nine Mile had full coverage still. Solid ice base with crust on top. 8am 32f a bit icy hard to get good edge, 9am 42f fast with great control, 10 am 50f soft slow. Never had such rapid changing conditions. Last ski before the Birkie if it takes place.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
Most trails were maintenance groomed in the skate lanes early this morning. The alps and the 20K have not been groomed. Today will likely be the last grooming until there is additional snowfall.

Groomers did an excellent job of pulverizing the crust and debris on most of the trail, 20 km, and Alps not done. Very good classic and skate conditions considering the weather and lack of recent snow. Not sure how long it will last, and there won't be any grooming again until the weekend to preserve the snow.

What a pleasant surprise! Good snow yet at nine mile. Just strided today but good new tracks thanks to Groomer Greg! A little debris but not bad. Very fast track, great double pull workout. My hard kick wax scraped off immediately so no kick. Super appreciation to skilled grooming!

The tracks are holding up and the base is solid. The snow was a little slow with icy speed at dusk. A lot of leaves and sticks in the tracks, so wax carefully (and often). Switched to waxless with much better result.

I drove up to Nine Mile early morning Tuesday. Trail had full coverage but were not groomed. Still a solid based but crusty with a few icy spots and a bare spot or two on the 20k loop. Just enough crust to get a decent edge but a fresh groom would have made it even better.
Base getting a bit thin and lots of pine needles and twigs on the trail to dodge otherwise a great ski at 30F.

37 degrees and sunny as we started at 11am with a freshly corduroy groomed trail that was wonderful. Best skiing conditions with the sunny warm weather. Even at 43 degrees it was fun but a little slower. We will be there tomorrow at 9am as the trails should be groomed earlier.
Still good base depth and coverage. New tracks groomed today were enjoyed by classic skiers.
