[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We had 6 groomers out early this morning and we groomed all 73 km including resetting tracks. We are now using both Pisten Bullys on the wider trails and the Gator and Bearcats on the narrow sections with Ginzu Groomers. The trails seem like mid-winter winter conditions! We are open daily starting at 9 AM including holidays.

We had some nice mild temps today with temps in the 20's. We received about 3 â€" 4 inches of snow during the day after the groomers finished the morning grooming routine. The groomers went back out during the day to regroom...and will be back out in the morning to regroom all 73 km.

Wow, what an amazing job the grooming crew did today to get a good portion of the trails skiable. Skating was quite good, and almost wicked fast, but soft enough to get edges. It got trickier when the temps dropped in the afternoon and the broken up crust hardened. Classic tracks were surprisingly somewhat kickable with fish scales, and also some decent kick with fairly soft 0 to -2 wax. Lots of wind blown branches, a good portion of which have been cleared from groomed trails. I saw three groomers out working in the afternoon, I imagine the crust will be mixed with the powder underneath by morning and the trails should be in good shape for Tuesday.

We had a great day of skiing today, the snow was cold dry powder. We are all watching and waiting to see what the weather brings us tonight and in the morning. Good News: it is 28 degrees at 8:30 PM it snowed for a short time and then turned to ice pellets. Bad news: forecast says it may rain later? Good News; the new snow will absorb some moisture. Bad news: it will warm up until 9 AM and then drop below freezing causing icy trails? Good News: We have enough snow base to re-groom and we have 5 groomers coming in the morning waiting for the right temp to groom. Conclusion: I would head north for some good skiing but I would not rush; wait for the roads to get salted since the best skiing Monday will be midday not at 9 AM. The rest of the week looks very favorable for skiing!

Excellent conditions throughout. It was my first time at ABR, and it's quite a facility! All trails were open, and snow was everywhere. Conditions were superb, with fully groomed skate decks and deep classic tracks. Occasional downsides were some leafy sections, a few blown-in segments in open prairie, and intermittent soft spots due to new snow. The Peltonen Pass Out deserves a double black diamond. The Saint Paul Academy ski team was out in force, and another high school motorcoach arrived as I left.

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The cold weather, and frequent grooming provided some of the best classic tracks you could ask for. Firm base, and pole plants. Skate lane looked slow in the sub-zero temps, but the classic skis ran well. Perfectly blue sky, and calm winds, made for an afternoon that did not seem very cold at all. What a day to be out! The whole system looks great! Thank you Groomers!

Grooming Secondhand
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skiing today was very good to excellent by the reports from skier reports. We are grooming all 73 km of trails and setting tracks on all 73 km of trail. The 6-10 inches of snow that came during the day was groomed from early morning and then 4 groomers continued to be groom all day. With over 4 feet of snow recorded we have been skiing for 4 weeks and are in mid-winter conditions. Groomers on task for Sunday morning again!

[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
We are at mid-winter conditions with 73 km of trails open and groomed, we groomed 70 km this morning again and set classic tracks on most of the trails. The Pisten Bully tilled the Dog trails and the base is adequate for powertilling. There is a bit of ice in the flat lowlands like Bear Bait and Sunrise but we are very skiable with excellent conditions on 95 % of the trails.

We re-groomed some of the skate lanes today -- with the wind it did not make sense to reset tracks. We are 100% open with 73 km of trails. The Pisten Bully was out testing the base on the dog trails tonight. Snowfall totals are in the 3 foot mark. Lodging open for the weekend.

Just got back from 4 days at ABR. Conditions were very good over the weekend; Sunday night they got 6 more inches of snow and conditions are excellent. Beautifully groomed.
