With several days of temps in the thirties including some rain during the weekend, I was not expecting such excellent skiing this week. Trails tilled and tracked this morning, except for 3 trails with steep hills. Greenstone Loop was silky with excellent skiing, firm pole plants and good new tracks. The parking lot is in poor condition, four-wheel drive advised.

The last 3 days have had morning temps in the mid-20s and afternoon highs in the mid-upper 30s. Still a firm 2-foot base. Fresh corduroy makes for good edging. A little debris in the piny areas, but easily avoided. No ice or wet areas, and nothing even remotely resembling a thin spot. Radar shows that the r-word is trying to make its way north, but nothing bad has fallen from the sky as of Friday afternoon. Tracks looked nice. Overall very good with some sections excellent.

Ski skated 25K on Swedetown Trails this morning in bright sunshine and perfectly groomed trails. Everything was tilled this morning. While I skated, the classic track looked to be excellent as well.

Classic tracks were very good today, very fast skiing as the day got above freezing in the afternoon. Excellent glide but some debris on the trails in certain spots. Cold night temps are allowing morning grooming and the snow is holding up just fine, nice and clean.

Excellent conditions at Swedetown. Probably a three-foot base and firm skate and classic tracks. The woods are beautiful with snowy trees and shimmering snow!

No snow drought in the Keweenaw! Swedetown has received over 2 feet of snow in 2017, on top of December's near-record snowfall. Today was one of those days that provided a perfect combination of glide, control, weather, and scenery.

Really nice skiing at Swedetown today. Great for both classic and skate. As the other report indicated, the new snow and groomers made a lovely trail. Classic tracks are great and base is firm for skating. Mild temps and relatively light winds also help. More snow is on the way.
