Notes

Small park near the end of the Gateway Trail. There is beautiful scenery with trails winding through pine forest, and near small lakes and picturesque farms. The course is quiet, sheltered, and has a lot of fun roling hills. Most of the terrain is intermediate in difficulty.

Beautiful environment and well groomed trails even at the end of the day! Snow was a bit sticky at the end of the day but in good shape. Classic track in good condition.

The trails had been groomed yesterday, but there was another 0.5" or so of fresh snow overnight. Skating was a chore, so I switched to classic, as several other skiers had thankfully been through the entire trail earlier. As it stands, the base is good, and it's a great time to visit a pristine setting with near-absolute quiet amid soaring pines.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
After several passes out on the trails yesterday and this morning the skate deck is in good condition. Grooming plans are to set track today which should be done around 1pm or so. It's going to be a good weekend to get out on the trails!

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The skate deck was completely refreshed today. After about 10-12 passes things groomed out to be in fair condition but there are still icy sections and mild debris. Tracks were not touched up at this time but are still present, although they are starting to fade out in a few areas.

Very nice late afternoon ski. Some tree debris but beautiful weather and fastidious grooming. Time of day must've been just right after freezing earlier.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
The ski trails were all regroomed early this morning - both packed and tracked. There is some minor debris and icy sections but overall things are in Good/Fair condition. East Side Multi-Use trails were not groomed at this time. Grooming Plans: Most likely we will wait for cooler temperatures before regrooming again!

I skijored the multi-use trail on the west side arount 10 AM. It was well packed and smooth enough to easily skijor. Put the tuckered pup back in the car then skated a loop on freshly groomed corduroy. The groomer was completing the skate track, which was beautiful: fast, smooth and so good! Just the typical late season debris. Classic track wasn't yet set. I love this park! Go out there right now, and enjoy it while it's cold!

Squeezed in a lunch time ski. Used my skin skis. Skate deck was being combed as I skied, so it is fresh and a bit soft. The classic tracks have not been reset since I last skied there Saturday. For the most part they are still present and solid. However, in several places, till from the skate deck grooming has filled the left classic track. Tracks have also accumulated more liter including some spruce cones and bark. Thus striding in some areas has become more difficult. Nonetheless, great place to ski on such a cold day with a sharp breeze being almost entirely wooded.

Started about 12:30. Even in exposed areas the track was serviceable, deep and solid everywhere else. Really nice that the groomer pulled the track up most of the climbs for striding. Skate deck looked good. Little in the way of pine and spruce needles, but a fair bit of oak leaves and box elder seed. Just get back on the heels and it's mostly good. Guru green for the first hour, mostly gone the second!

It doesn't get better than this. Skied all trails. All freshly groomed and set track everywhere. Leaves and sticks not too bad. Drifting almost non-existent. Thank you groomers. It should set up well for this weekend.
