Observation
[ Trails Open: Partial ]
Walked from the parking lot to trail and found that water had collected and turned to ice when you first get on the man made snow. The rest of what could be seen was frozen and no loose snow so I didn't even try to ski. There did seem to be full coverage but hopefully the snow can be loosened and snow for covering the places where water pooled and formed ice.

I just looked at the man made loops at the park and they are very firm and icy. I personally would not ski them. That being said they are 90% covered and will be skiable as soon as we can renovate them. Grooming plans: Grooming operations will start after 6:00 tonight. If you are skiing at that time please give the groomer room to do his work (If I can see you you're too close). With a little patience we can get the trails skiable again.

Spring skiing on the snowmaking loops this morning. Soft, compressed slush on a firm base. A few icy spots and other trouble areas. Plenty of base on 98 percent of the trails. Most trouble spots are on the edges. Tracks, which are soft and icy, are most impacted by these few bad spots.

I was amazed at the ability of the groomers to keep this trail going right now. Thank you. Yes some ice in tracks at first, yes some corn snow and then more as it got warmer. But I was able to stride a full work out today. Thank you. If you have skied here and have not donated to snow making please consider it. Best donation I've made in a long time.

Very nice for skate and stride on the snowmaking loops this morning. A soft layer of corn snow on a firm base provided easy gliding. Not too chopped up when I left around 11:30. Tracks are best suited for double poling. A few more areas of surface dirt, courtesy of the deer and turkeys crossing the trail.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Most, B skis ]
The Piston Bully was out at night grooming the man made loops at the park. The skate deck was tilled and is in great condition. New classic track was set and are in great condition as well. Some areas of the classic track are getting a little shallow due to the hard pack under the trail. As is the case this winter the best skiing will be early in the morning and after sunset. We will suspend further grooming until the weather cools off. Hopefully the trails hold up.

Fresh groomed trail on man made loop early this morning with corn/sugary top on solid base. 28 F made it for delightful and fast ski. Put in 31km on the loops. By the time I was done, snow transformed to mushy snow cone type but still good. Parking lot was full when I left mid morning. Thanks to groomers for keeping us skiing - about only decent place left in Southern WI right now.

Snowcone snow transitioning to softer slush as the day progressed on the snowmaking loops. Chopped up early, with fast conditions on the downhills. Warmth and the sun causing compaction and slowing of the surface. Not much in the way of debris or dirty spots. Tracks are getting icy.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: Partial, B skis ]
I had the Pisten Bully out again Monday night. All manmade trails have been tilled, groomed, and fresh tracks set all around. Expect another great day of skiing especially early before the sun starts softening things up. Happy Trails!!

I've been skiing LP (as have most skiers in a 100 mile radius) to keep in ski shape for our annual trek to Hayward. Skied this morning and the man-made loop was excellent! Kudos to the grooming crew for getting it back in shape every day in the warming times. Skied yesterday and it was getting pretty sugary on the up hills but they got it packed down well for this morning. The trick is to get out there before it gets too warm and skied in. Way to go LP groomers! Skate lane is good to excellent, tracks are set and many happy classic skiers!
