Conditions for skating at Fox Hill are in fair condition but getting better. Groomer Jerry arrived shortly after 4:00 this afternoon to scarify. Most of the trails had seen heavy use over the weekend and were rutted up pretty badly. The wooded areas were worse than the open fields. The scarified areas were vastly improved and once the newly fallen snow adheres to the base, it should be even better. There's not enough snow to set track.

Fox Hill Nordic is in excellent condition for skating. Excellently groomed top coat on a firm base allows for fast, yet controlled, skiing. No washouts, no icy patches. Some trail debris but not enough to merit B-skis. The trail maintenance has been superior. Classic tracks have been skied in but not set.

Conditions: Absolutely awesome!
Came up from the Milwaukee area expecting lots of ice and bare spots. Instead, I was treated to fabulous freshly groomed corduroy with about an 1" of fresh snow mixed into a firm base. With tonight's cold temperatures, it might be even better tomorrow if that is possible. This is why I joined Fox Hill and I haven't been dissappoined.

Conditions: Fair. Could be very good by Friday.
One and half inches of new snow Wednesday, so wet and heavy that it skis like 3-4 new inches. It was too warm to groom yet, so Jerry was getting equipment ready for tomorrow. By early afternoon on Thursday he should have most of the moisture squeezed out and a good deck. Please help by flicking branches and twigs off trail.

Conditions: Good/very good for skating Friday late afternoon.
Trail was firm but provided good edging and control, even on downhills. Great grooming given the conditions. I used B skis but good skis probably would have been fine. Hopefully the warm temps won't do too much damage. Classic track looked good on some of the trails and nonexistent other places.

Conditions: Very good to excellent. Nicely groomed throughout for skating. A solid classic track on all the lower and meadow trails.
It's been forever since I've been to Fox Hill. It's changed a lot in a good way. Lots more tight technical sections in the woods now. Well worth the cost of a trail pass.

Regroomed skate lanes this morning, they seem to be firm. Classic tracks were set yesterday.
