Conditions: With the man-made snow as a base and the the new dusting of snow it was a bit soft. But it was really nice to finally be on the real stuff.
Credit Three Rivers and there first rate staff for the excellent grooming job with little to work with. Get out there and enjoy.

The trail remained in great shape into darkness this evening. Good base, trails sharp and a bit icy, tons of snow throughout the loop. Watch out for deer crossing the trails at dusk, surprised some skiers. Saw a resident coyote and heard owls hooting in the trees. Nice to be out on lit trails in evening.

Conditions: White Christmas with presents.
A number of eager celebrants were waiting as the gate opened and the lights began burning brightly at the Hyland winter wonderland. Santa and his elves were out late last night leaving a gift of 3Km of perfectly groomed skate and classic tracks amidst the oaks, birch and pines. The lumps of coal at the start of the Willow trail had been transformed to white fast snow crystals. Even Rudolf joined in the Christmas spirit leaving a not-so-little steaming present on the Willow loop before Jan's place. Merry Christmas.

Very fast conditions this morning. Well done Hyland for keeping the trail intact and for progressing to 3k+. I discourage using race skis. There are the expected dirty spots here and there and unless you have the ability to throw away pair after pair of race skis, I'd recommend B skis. The Hyland crew is doing the absolute best they can given the conditions but I need a lot more (real) snow before breaking out the top equipment.

Conditions: World-class conditions on Hyland's 3.2K loop. Firm, fast, fun, not icy at all, best conditions so far this season! Race skis for sure.
The grooming set up perfectly overnight and by 5:45am there were several happy skiers enjoying a Christmas Eve morning ski. By 7:15am, the parking lots were starting to get quite full. Thanks for all the great grooming!

Conditions: Hard fast and fun.
Frog pond loop is a welcome addition. Trail was hard packed but still able to get good push off the ski. Careful, the back parking lot is an ice rink.

Conditions: Well groomed, fresh snow and okay classic tracks.
Definitely a great place to skate ski! Finding a kick wax in this warm of weather is very difficult. They opened up a 3.2k loop, and have the bowl finished. The new section added has a large hill that is a great workout!! Overall it is a wonderful course!
