The Minnesota high school sectionals are this week. The events determine which teams and individuals will be able to compete at the State Meet. Final course grooming began on Thursday morning. And race organizers have said there will be a live webcast this season. Read the latest press release.

Margaret checked out the course on Wednesday, bottom line: plenty of snow, should be a great race. See the recon report.
Weather is looking great, with temperatures in the mid 20s for the race. Hourly weather graph for Mora area.
Also, they are still seeking a few women racers for the Eldris Sprints on Saturday -- earn some cash!

Organizers are reporting excellent conditions for this year's Mora Vasaloppet course and early forecasts are pointing to very favorable weather in the mid 20s. They also report a few openers still in the new Eldris Sprints on Saturday. Read the full press release.

- Feb 2 update:
Organizers plan to utilize new singletrack sections (roughly 7.5K) for parts of the second lap in the 25K classical race with the race finishing on 5.5K of double track. The races will start on Birkie trail near the west end of the powerline section, then funnel onto the Birkie classic trail to connect to the North End trails.
