A fantastic skate ski at Mt. Ashwabay mid-morning today. Freshly groomed, firm flat skate deck and great glide. Skied Jolly, Abbey and Northern Lights trails. Thank you groomers!

Fresh snow yesterday. All skate tracks were groomed this morning. Very good skate conditions with some thin spots on the Buzz. Still waiting for more snow to groom the classic tracks, though they are open for skiing.

Wisps of new snow in the air. All the skate trails were groomed this morning, except Skid Road and Jolly. Buzz has a few places with exposed leaves.

It's snowing! Groomed skate decks of Abbey, Anchor system, Beginners, Telford, Seagull, Northern Lights, Seagull ridge, The Buzz. Note that the Buzz has one short, thin area on a curve with some sand showing up in the snow. It's would be hard to avoid on the downhill. Very good to excellent skate deck with occasional thin spots and leaves in some stretches. Classic tracks grooming is waiting for more snow.

Skated out to the cabin, up Northern Lights, down Seagull, and returned on upper Anchor. The conditions were surprisingly good! Coverage is still decent, the trails are really level and flat, and I wasn't worried about damaging my skis. The base is hard and a little icy in some places, but they successfully scratched it up enough on Tuesday morning to make it enjoyable to skate! It gets better the more elevation you have, so the worst icy spots are near the trailhead- you'll be rewarded if you climb up a bit. Classic looks more marginal.

These Skate lanes were groomed: Abbey, Anchor and Big Loop. The surface is a bit loose compared to the hard and very fast on Monday. The Buzz area is thin in many places, skiing not recommended there. Classic tracks have not been groomed since pre-holidays and rain, due to limited snow. Please use caution.

Very icy, and not groomed since it rained on Friday-Saturday. Classic tracks were pretty washed out. Skate lanes were rutted but skiable. Hoping for more snow soon!

Classic skied something between 35 and 40 km today, 3 hrs. Conditions are fairly good. Tracks are fairly shallow with softer sidewalls in areas, washed out in other places. Skate deck is firm. Hills have great Tracks and skate deck. It was a phenomenal ski with more awesome hill climbs than I can count. Thank you groomers! I'll be back.

The skating was fast, and really great. Very firm and level skate deck. Skied the Abbey Rd/Northern Lights/Buzz loop. The coverage is still fantastic on everything except the Buzz, which is starting to show some debris poking through, but nothing major.

All trails were beautifully groomed today, with the exception of Jolly Long. Groomers say that the skate and classic trails are in very good to excellent condition. Lots of smiling faces coming off the trails!
