Piedmont was a dream today! Solid tracks with no debris, beautiful sunshine, and many smiling faces. As the sign says, "What could be better?".

Trails are in pretty good condition. A few sticks and some tree debris here and there but easily avoidable. Tracks are in pretty good shape, washed out in a few spots.

By the time I got to Piedmont at 11 AM, it had been groomed! Skied 2 hours, nice and deep firm tracks, forgiving and somewhat slow downhills due to fresh snow. Every loop gave me less intact track on the steepest climb sections, but it's a popular trail, that's just what happens.

As of 6 am, trails are 99% drift free. Only minor debris from the wind, mostly leafs. Kinda soft but still great. Skated and did the classics loops. Tracks were in place throughout.

Piedmont has 100 percent snow coverage and has been very well used. The intersections are concrete like from use, the tracks are deep and firm, with very little debris, just a leaf here and there. Evidence of use shortly after grooming as tracks are misshapen in spots. Pole plants a mix of firm and slightly soft.

Piedmont is freshly groomed this morning. Was evidence of a car driving on the skate trail again but the groomer was there fixing it. Thankful for the city of Duluth groomers being out so early after the snow! Pictured are the freshly groomed trails and what the skate loop looked like before the groomer went over the car tracks.

We had surprisingly good conditions after the warm weather. Looks like the trails were groomed on Wednesday or so, the classic tracks were shallow but had very minimal washout. It was a little icy but was still a fun day to get out.

This may be my first trail report! Great to ski in the backyard again after the disappointment of last winter. The double track is in good condition with some sticks and leaves that are avoidable. Pole plants are a little soft but it should firm up with more skiers. Thank you to the groomers!

Tracks are mostly intact and just a few sticks here and there that are easily avoided. Huge thank you to the groomers who have the trail in great shape after it was driven over last week by a vehicle.

The bad news is the vehicle damage - enough to bring one's faith in humanity down several notches. The tires trashed both tracks for a good part of the course. The good news is that the loop with the big hill is unscathed, as is the return from F (junction with Evil Knievel) back to B (skate loop/two-way). The tracks in those sections remain solid and without much debris, and there's decent coverage on the big downhill.
