All artificial snow trails are open and in good condition. The natural snow trails have been groomed but no classic tracks. There is a base of snow covering the trails but the downhills are getting snowplowed off so be cautious when descending. For the instructional groups out over the weekend please be aware of the abilities of your students and the conditions of the natural snow trails. Grooming plans: We are hoping to groom natural snow trails Saturday morning. The last note I have is the lights on the west side of the upper loops all the way down Cowabunga are out and we are working to get them repaired but they will probably be out through the weekend. The lights are working on the rest of the trails. Thanks everyone for coming out and skiing. Have a great weekend.

Skied the trails with artificial snow by the amazing people who maintain the trails. Snow was great. Fast. Tracks were excellent. The other trails had been groomed but without tracks, and people were skiing on them. Snow was not deep enough for tracks. Hundred or so kids having MYSL lessons. So good to see.

The natural snow trails (Gold, Silver and SkiGames) have been packed - there is not enough snow to call them groomed. The base is very thin, with some small branches, rocks, and dirt either poking through or just below the surface. The Enchanted Forest and SkiGames are skiable with caution. Other natural snow trails should be avoided until more snow comes unless you are very confident in your abilities.

Packed powder on the skate deck to no surprise. The new snow is low moisture content, and didn't inhibit glide too much. It seemed to be bonding well with the layer below on uphills. As always, thanks to the BC crew!

Thanks to BC for providing machine made reliable snow for the section 4 meet today. Last Thursday was 50 and no wind while today was sunny and windy. Groomer did awesome job and all the others to get course marked and setup. Tracks were easy to kick in early in day and skate deck nice but as day went on the 'snow' blew off skate deck which made skate deck fast/icy and kick more challenging in or out of tracks. Special thank you to the two assistants from Forest Lake and Stillwater who helped me (Mounds View) get my big wax tent set up at 6:30am in the cold windy conditions. I couldn't have done it without you. Another example of the great people in Nordic community!

Skate ski trails nice and fast. Not icy just crunchy. Few leaves on the trail but not bad. Very enjoyable! Classic tracks set looked good. Thanks groomers.

Very enjoyable ski at Battle Creek today, and no I was not the one who groomed it. The classic tracks were very hard at the bottom but contained enough of Monday's new loose snow that there was reasonable kick with my skin skis. The skate lanes looked great with a shallow loose snow surface that seemed to be very fast and enjoyable for those who were skating. Keep your hopes up for more snow.
