Very good for skating. Firm, semi icy skate deck. Fresh grooming throughout. I'm still in town so I availed myself of the opportunity to join the Wednesday morning 'Geezer Collective' workout group for a ski at the North End trails. The grooming crew at the North End have done an exemplary job of keeping these trails skiable through the recent freeze, thaw cycles. I skied all the skate trails except the World Cup/Tony Wise trials and they're in very good condition. Hard and fast with enough corduroy for good control. I didn't ski the single track classic trails but they looked fantastic as well.

Main loops at North End were combed out and new track set this afternoon. The tracks are mostly full depth with a few shallow places. Skate lane is smooth with some debriis especially under the pines. Grooming of the NE Classic is scheduled for tomorrow.

The crew member scheduled for yesterday evening was not able to get out. Hoping to get someone out this morning. Trails remain same as yesterday's report.

The NE Trail was gone over once after the race and groomers will be out this afternoon/evening to complete the job. There is a track remaining but it is not consistant, sometimes good, sometimes gone. The skate lane has classic tracks in it occassionally that did not get wiped out after the race. Should be better tomorrow.

Nearly perfect. Skied North End/Birkie/old Korte trails...and it was just the best! Tomorrow this area is under race rules. Red Kick wax did just fine.

Skate lane on the main loops was combed this afternoon, tracks are holding up fine but have caught some debris from the winds this morning. The NE Classic trail is also in very good condition. Correction from yesterday, only the second half of the World Cup trail was groomed. NE trails are all open Saturday but will be closed for the race on Sunday. Race grooming will start late Saturday afternoon/evening.

We only skied to the B cut off, but it was very nice except for the leaves and pine needles in the tracks. We used hard wax as the snow had not transformed yet. The skate lane was also very good. The forecast is for above freezing the next few days, below freezing at night, so it will probably get more abrasive. Ski early to avoid wet snow.

The main loops and the NE Classic trail were tracked today. The skate lane set up very nicely overnight and the classic tracks are firm and deep. The World Cup/Tony Wise is scheduled to be groomed tomorrow and will be groomed skate only. Reminder: the North End Classic is this Sunday so the main loops are for the race only that day. Conditions are looking excellent.
