Beautiful conditions, I think only one other person had been out skiing before me, freshly groomed and way better than Monday evening...enjoy it while you can!

Refreshed the skate deck and set new tracks on the Silver and Bronze trails Tuesday night. Should be very good skiing tomorrow before it warms up.

[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Went out around 5pm today, coverage was good, conditions were average. Classic track is starting to fade and skate lane is skiable but not sure it's been groomed since the storm, though it has been rolled. There's been foot traffic in the open areas but the woods are okay. Freeze and thaw has made some ruts but it was not totally frozen.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
Skied around 4 PM. Classic tracks in decent shape but starting to break down in spots, especially in the sun. Downhills starting to become rutted as trail compacts from the melting. I found some of the bigger hills kinda hairy because it was difficult to snowplow but the high school kids who flew by me had no problems. It was nice to ski the ski games side, it was also in decent shape.

Firsthand: Classic

Classical skiing on all Winthrop and Ski Games trails. Toko bright red hard wax was FAST with good kick. Tracks were in great shape - and reasonably firm - almost everywhere, but deck was fairly snowplowed on the steep descents. As usual, great grooming everywhere. Thanks, guys!

Grooming

All trails--including Ski Games across the road and JOC on the ballfield--were packed this morning. Grooming and setting track planned for midday. Expect conditions to still be a bit soft. But very scenic!

Evening
Firsthand: Classic
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
I classic skied the WC loop around 8 PM. Tracks were good throughout (but not real deep) and glazed over, so somewhat fast. Be careful on the downhills as the tracks are not always deep enough to guide your skis and the skate lane was slightly rutted in places. Skate lane was soft in most places, but was starting to firm up and glaze over. Swix blue was not grabbing very well. There were deer and other animal prints as well as ski and pole depressions all over. All in all, an enjoyable ski on a clear, starry night. Thanks groomers and park employees!

All trails--except JOC on the ballfield--packed and tracks set, including Ski Games across the road. Likely on the soft side until it sets-up a bit. Classic might be the best choice.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, Good skis ]
The Silver, Gold, Bronze and Ski Games trails were re-groomed and new tracks were set after yesterday's snow/rain mix. The World Cup trail was groomed for skate, but no tracks set on A Climb. Conditions are good for both skate and classic. With attention to a very few icy spots, good skis are fine. The conditions should be fast and firm. Enjoy.

Grooming
[ Trails Open: All, B skis ]
Silver trail was groomed this morning. Lower prairie is firm and icy in spots. Upper part and back hills of Silver groomed nicely. There are small icy spots under evergreens and on south facing slopes. To avoid the icy spots in the prairie, take the cutoff at sign post #2 to the uphill. The only caution on top is the sharp left turn into the woods past sign post #12.
