Great conditions at Battle Creek. Probably the best the trails have been in years. Used A-skis with no worries. Skate deck is firming up and the classic tracks were firm, full depth, and had very little debris in them.

All skate trail were combed out including the Ski Games trail. Tracks were not touched, they are holding up well. Look for good ski conditions at BC Tuesday!

Classic-skied the entire system and the tracks were great everywhere but the entrance field- even the Ski Games trails were solid. Only one or two spots had some dirt mixed in, and tracks were not broken down anywhere in the system. Good job, groomers! Only problem encountered was leaves in the tracks a lot of places in the woods. John, would you please have a word with the oaks about that?

All trails were super, both for classic and skating. As reported earlier, the trails were a little soft, but the track was set perfectly with good control on the downhills, and you could walk straight up most hills keeping your skis in the tracks. These trails should be firm and fast this week. Thank you groomers, you absolutely rock!

Due to drifting the trails will be soft for awhile, but all trails [Winthrop trails, JOC (ballfield) and Ski Games across the road] groomed and new track set.

As of 4pm trails weren't groomed yet, but had been skied in. New snow will make for some nice skiing. A few thin and icy spots from snow plowing on downhills and wind scour but otherwise coverage was great.

Excellent conditions for skating on the Ski Games and all Gold, Silver and Bronze loops. Several high schools were out practicing for sections that will occur there this next week. All downhills were fabulous and fast and easy to step turn with the 1-2 inches of new snow falling today. Tracks were in good condition most everywhere. Just a few areas in the woods where oak leaves have fallen in the tracks. The best shape Battle Creek has been in in 3-4 years. Thanks grooming crew! Get out there for some real hill training!! You can use your best skis with no problem, either technique.

Groomed most of the system for skating plus groomed and set classic track on the Ski Games side which is in excellent shape (see photo). Skating is very good on the Bronze, Silver, Gold and WC trails with the classic trail being good only because of a few rough spots and a lot of oak leaves in the woods. We will be grooming again after any new snow. Get out and ski at Battle Creek!

I skied the Gold Course and the Games Course this afternoon and found the grooming of the classic tracks to be excellent. These loops had been recently groomed and I was amazed to find virtually no ice anywhere. If we could only train the oak trees not to drop their leaves! Thank you to the groomers for a superb job.

All trails except Ski Games were groomed and tracks were reset on Silver trail this morning. All trails in very good condition with a combination of fresh snow and renovated hard pack that has been fully incorporated into the base. Good skis on all sections with some of the best skiing of the season available to those who want challenging terrain for training. Enjoy.
