Given this year, the machine-made loops at Wirth were excellent! The hills became a little sugary late into the day, but the classic tracks were solid. The trails were filled with MYSL skiers from 3-5pm and kudos to nearly everyone who gave grace and space and smiles to the future of our sport as they passed by.

Skated the open trails this afternoon. Nice conditions. A few icy spots where the sugary snow has been pushed around on a few descents. Classic tracks looked good. Not much debris anywhere.

Great skiing at Wirth today! Tracks were shallow in spots but good overall. Sugar on the uphills, downhills were great - not so lightning fast. The parking lot was full but there was plenty of room on the trails. Snowmaking was active on Twin Lakes section. The sun was wonderful and very little wind so it felt warmer than the temps said. Don't let the temps scare you!

The groomers did a great job today. Cold weather helped with more blown snow. Skate deck was solid, even had corduroy in some spots still this morning. I didn't ski classic, but the trails looked well tracked and deep. All around nice day and great trails for skiing.

Got out there around 2:30 pm and it was quite busy. Snow was pretty skiable and not too deep except for the steepest uphills. Only hit the solid ice on the uphills a couple times. Downhill was pretty tricky on the main line as the loose snow was all scraped away, but off to the side it wasn't too bad. There was a fair amount of debris on the trails so I wouldn't use my best skis but no dirt or rocks.

Skated with a start at 12:30. Up to 2 inches of loose snow on a good amount of the trail but very doable. Downhills were somewhat fast and tricky. Classic tracks were good with some ice. 4K open but saw additional hoses being placed so hopefully more snow making in the works.

Skied classic late morning. Tracks were fast, uphills sugary, downhills very fast. There was debris and dirt in places but my skis didn't catch on it. Challenging conditions but still fun. The colder temps felt good!

Misty air with firm, icy tracks that were set nice and deep. Naturally some dirt mixed in with the fully transformed snow.

Various states of transformed snow over a hard icy deck on the open snow making loops. Downhills were incredibly fast but manageable. Snow was dirty on the Green Meadow and Jim's Hills climbs with a fair number of twigs down on the latter. Overall, the trails survived yesterday's rain quite well.

Got out in the late morning for a ski at Wirth. The trails were in pretty good shape - a hard, icy deck covered in a little slush. Some sticks on trail, particularly starting the climb to coaches'corner. Not many folks out. 3.5 k open.
