New Reports Report Requests

Notes

A great mix of beginner and expert ski trails. With the inclusion of the Jerry Jolly Trails there is about 25 km groomed for skating and classic. There is also an additional 15 km of classic only trails. With views of Lake Superior and the Apostle Islands, this is a very scenic area to ski. There is a nice lodge which sells snacks and food as well as a ski patrol and small downhill area.

We regroomed the skate lanes of Anchor, Seagull, Rollercoaster and Telford. We reset tracks on all the skate trails, plus Sugarbush Classic. In general the trails are skiing in good to very good conditions.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
With the thaw, then about 1/2 inch of new snow, the crew groomed all the trails, except for Rollercoaster (Might want to stay off of that one, as it is probably pretty ice.). Probably still a little fast out there, but the groomers reported good conditions.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
We groomed and tracked all the skate trails. Then tracked all the trails, except Oppedahl's, Birch Hill, and the Jolly Connector. Looks to be a little soft, but nice otherwise.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
We regroomed and tracked the skate trails tonight. Most of it groomed up quite nicely. Still a bit of wind up on the top of Seagull when i was grooming, so might be a little drifting up there.

Grooming
[ Good skis ]
With about 2 inches of new snow, we groomed and tracked: Anchor, Jolly Long, Seagull, Rollercoaster and Telford. We also tracked Sugarbush Classic. It set up nicely, then started snowing, so expect some soft stuff on top.

Afternoon
Firsthand: Classic
[ Good skis ]
Conditions: Great coverage. Beautiful trails. Painfully slow.
Skied about 10 random miles today at Ashwabay. The light coating of heavy wet snow made for a slow slog through the woods. Probably would have been better with waxless skis, but still slow.

Grooming Scheduling
With 8-10 inches of new snow, we groomed and tracked: Anchor, Jolly Long, Seagull, Rollercoaster and Telford. We tracked: Sugarbush, Oppedahl's and Birch Hill. We packed Deerpath, Raven and Black Bear. Our plan is to track those last 3 tomorrow morning. It's beautiful out there, although I'm sure the trails are a little soft.
